I wonder why the hell they just didn't rent a boat trailer and go to a boat launch. Seems like a huge amount of rigamoroll plus the clearing and destruction of plantings on the shore line would have brought a $100,000 from ENCON if they were not politically connected! Leave it to eggheads to do things bassackwards.

(smallmouth bassackwards it looks like)

The boat launch is for launching boats with less draft than the Onrus.   The water is deeper along the shore line by the Mabee Farm ...  and therefore a better place to launch the boat.

just for laughs how deep do you think the water is where they dropped the boat in? I know and I can tell you there was a lot of discussion before they attempted it.

and just a bit more info, the onrust's draft is 4.5 feet. it most certainly could have been trailered and launched from a boat launch. just saying

as to the depth of the water where they were putting it in and the concern they had, the draft would give you a hint

Have you ever seen the draft of a 40 foot cabin cruiser or an a 28 foot aft cabin? That is not the channel of the Mohawk, that is a sandy, gravelly flat. Spoken like a guy who never launched or owned a boat, spent 1,000s of hours on the Mohawk or worked in the marine industry- all things I have done. Once more he is out of his depth. No pun intended. It was done there to make a PR statement and they destroyed and disrupted within the 100 foot DEC buffer zone, with no permit and without a damn hoot as to the cost. Clownboy knows nothing as usual but wants to defend everything his cronies do, while making sure average citizens are held accountable for minor sins.

I was just offering a possible suggestion as to why they tried to put it in there.   If you say the Onrust's draft is 4.5 feet - it very well may be .. I don't have any specific information on the boat's dimensions.

As for the river's depth along the shoreline, I was going by what I was told by a representative of the Canal Corp a couple years ago ... he told me and other members of our commission that the river along the shoreline was deeper along that stretch of the river near the lock.   As I don't have any information to counter his claim or your claim --- I'll just settle for saying the question remains to be answered,

You made a statement - presumably of fact. Not a question or a suggestion. There's no words like "possibly" or "maybe" or "perhaps" - it's a statement.

Another unsubstantiated statement you've been called out on, and beat down with.

And exactly who the hell do you think you are ... thinking you know the intentions of every other person ??

Besides, I was not responding to you -- so keep your mouth shut.

was the junction made aware? or how about every other place along the canal....the water goes up and the water goes down scenario...AGAIN?
