Wow, even the banks are up for auction.

Couldn't happen to a nicer corporate entity ... along with their $5 debit card policy.

that last statement does not even make any sense. once again, u confuse the issue. bank of american is no more -- it is getting rid of shops. it has nothing to do with local politics ,, it is a business decision, and yes working together works,l, ask u buds in glenville, who worked together to bust the tax cap.

It will be interesting to see who or what will purchase the building and what they propose to do with it.

A perfect spot for another pit bull accessory store. Off the leash! Or a governmental gin mill. The Cockroach City after 35 years of idiot "progress" is now The Pit Bull City.

You mean to tell me that people don't even want to do the business of selling properties that are located in Schenectady in the city?  Or even in the state?  You need to go to New Jersey to buy a property in Schenectady?  And while this is being called a "Bank of America" location, this would actually be the former Trustco, better known by those around as Schenectady Trust. I still say the day they started going down is when they decided that Schenectady should no longer be part of their name.

It's really funny how sock puppets say everything is happening nationwide. Are McDonald's closing nationwide in malls like RSM? Are Pizza Huts closing nationwide? How about Auntie Ann's pretzels? Are Counties nationwide starting Metrografts to rip off consumers and help connected millionaires? The economy here keeps tanking {more than nationwide} because of confiscatory over taxation and continuing non-mandated social welfare programs.

And on top of that, the businesses that are closing, reorganizing, but keeping some of their places open, i.e. McDonald's, Friendly's, etc., will decide only to close the locations that are either losing or bringing in the least amount of profit, but people can't understand that.  Maybe the Friendly's on Altamont Ave can be considered a patient who died due to the Recovery Room.  Is there a reason that there are no longer any fully functioning self-standing Friendly's in Schenectady County? There are in Albany County.

Obviously not enough business to keep them open. Businesses do this all the time. They will let them run in the black just long enough to use as a loss on the books........then they close them.

As far as banks.........schenectady county has too many now. The few times I drove by that new berkshire bank by the recovery room.........it is dead!! So is the citizen bank on altamont.
