"Tea Party Nation" President Judson Phillips said, denying the right to vote to those who do not own property "makes a lot of sense".

"The Founding Fathers originally said, they put certain restrictions on who gets the right to vote," Phillips said. "It wasn't you were just a citizen and you got to vote."

"Some of the restrictions, you know, you obviously would not think about today," he continued. "But one of those was you had to be a property owner. And that makes a lot of sense, because if you’re a property owner you actually have a vested stake in the community."

"If you're not a property owner, you know, I'm sorry but property owners have a little bit more of a vested interest in the community than non-property owners."

Hey, at least it is only the head of an activist group making these remarks, and it's not a governor of a state suggesting foregoing congressional elections.

When the Tea Party gathered in Washington they weren't paid for by the rich as most of them were older folks and many on SS. Being conservative doesn't mean favoring the rich, we were against the bank, housing, and wall street bailouts and according to you they are the rich. Of course not... why would you limit an Americans RIGHT to vote... unless you wanted to suppress the vote among those who rent.  
I would guess a larger portion of renters are poor, and a larger portion of poor vote democrat.

The buses were provided to cut down on the problem with parking around Washington, DC, people paid their own way except for a few buses that were paid for by a donor. The vast majority of Americans are now FOR the Rich Paying Their Fair Share of Taxes.  (except the TeaBaggers... they want the Rich to have more and grandma's Social Security to be cut)

Wrong again Box, most would like to see a flat/fair tax with no loop holes that allow companies like GE to get away without paying taxes while making billions in profit. We also would like to see SS, Medicare, and Medicaid reformed so that the programs will be sustainable in the future. Taxing the 2% of rich people in the country at a higher rate will not solve our debt problems and everyone but you know it.
