Has he reimbursed the taxpayers for it?   If you say yes, PROVE IT

Has he been arrested for his code violations?   What about the fact thast someone died in there?

What was the cause of the fire?

No responsibility by the city for ignoring reports of a missing person and the missing persons car at the fire scene, remember?

Sure you can SB. Popolizio hasn't had any charges against him. His other apartments are disgusting as well. I know someone who lives in one of his rat holes - bet that City inspector has blinders on and a little extra cash in his pocket every time someone calls to complain.

The fire at his apartment on McClellan and Eastern Parkway was one of the worst cover-ups by the City. Too bad the TU has enough integrity to report the truth - the Gazette would have buried this on a back page or would have 'forgotten' all together.

Well since you don't know, I will enlighten you. It is apparent that you do not run a business or you would know that when you collect sales tax, you are criminally liable for paying it. Not so with property tax. You simply get your property seized by the government, civilly if you can't make that nut. But sales tax is something you collect from other entities and therefore the statute makes it such that the taxpayer who willfully and with intent to evade tax fails to pay such tax- commits tax fraud.  

However that being said, unless there was said intent, and the failure to remit was willful, it is not criminal to be behind in paying your tax late.

So one should with hold judgement of criminality on such matters or no?

i do not know the facts about poppie and his apartments, so i will withhold comment. I do not know what recourse city officials have against him, or whether they are even taking action against him

The fireside didn't have the same luxury as Cornells who was also not paying taxes, but was rescued by the gazetto, who bought Cornells debt and protected by the friends and family club.

The demise of Cornells would have been a major black eye for the metroplex/gillen....so the 'boys club' came to the rescue to safe face.

the gazetto did not buy cornells. hume bought it as a private citizen...

in the paper, his partner said they bought it because they are long time friends of owner and wanted to help her out...

they did not bail it out to protect metroplex, i do not believe that.

hume and co., have no connection to metroplex.

hume and co. might have bought out fireside if he liked pizza enough though, lol

Fact is Cornell's is just as crooked as Fireside, by your definition SB. There are two major difference though:

1) Metroplex gave huge loans to Cornells with the county taxpayer money

2) Cornell's was bailed out - not only with Hume, but the Plex is helping Hume deal with the back-tax problems.

Fireside didn't get government hand outs, yet Cornell's received LOTS of Plex money and owes quadruple in taxes and loans.

Another reason why Cornell's should have not moved and should never have listened to Metroplex. If they were going to fail, they would have failed long ago without racking up such large debt.
