lookie here.. the folks on this here webbie site are now experts in environmental remediation...

guess we will no longer need to hire experts to tell us how to cleanup pollution, or follow accepted practices --

we will just ax them.. cause they is soooo smart and they knows all about everything.

WOW.....you are very  nasty when the taxpayer's speak. It's unfortunate that you imply that ALL schenectadians are dumbed down. I will agree that thanks to the liberal socialist democons and their lucrative welfare package, most of the city probably is! But I doubt very much that they are the ones posting to this blog. They are apparently the ones that are working and paying the high taxes and fees. People are 'smarter and more informed' then you may think. I mean hell....SCCC and Union college graduates surely have stayed here in schenectady after graduation.....yes???
Well...that's what the gazetto would have you believe....yes?

dude,, the point is that DEC agreed to the remediation plan being used by galesi, therefore it is a valid method to deal with the pollution there. u do not need to cart all the soil out to clean up the site.. u can cover it up..

as far as the brain power of the bloggers on this site... i would say it is equal to the power generated by the nuclear reactor on the site -- enuf to light one light bulb,.

and u surely do not represent the taxpayers in schenectady,, u are on voice, and a biased one at that.. and your statement that most of the people int he city are dumb because of democon policies is basically incorrect and a bit far-fetched, plus a bunch of other things, but i won't get into them.

I'm sure people buying those condo's will appreciate knowing that once again, govt covered up the problem instead of dealing with it properly.  Let the next generation handle it.

SB quote:

"What taxpayers the three that go to the City Council each week because they can't afford tv?"

Your attitude of obvious distain for the taxpayers parallels that of the Mayor. This is one issue I've NEVER understood in Schenectady.

Why is it that the Mayor and many others in the Council HATE the taxpayers? We pay our bills, clean up our properties and for christ sake volunteer in the City, yet we're treated like second class citizens (McCarthys rude remarks during meetings for example).

He obviously could care less about the taxpayers or the fate of the neighborhoods or the welfare of the City schools.  Because if he was genuine, the schools would get their $2 million, the pit bull issue and abduction situations would have been addressed and the neighborhood associations would see McCarthy more than once, during election time.

u are reaching for sure.. he lives in the city and pays taxes himself.. or did u forget that? he knows what the tax burden is...

i do not think he has disdain.. if he had disdain, he would not be in public service..

i think he does not suffer fools gladly, and that may be a problem ,, but i do not think he does not care about the city.

so, therefore, your observations are just that.., they are not based on empirical evidence, just based on your anger ..

Acting Mayor, County Investigator, City Metroplex representative, City Council Leader McCarthy actually lives in the City? And he actually pays his own taxes?-WOW! You're kidding right? He moved from mama's house? Such profound insight. Thank you for sharing this great knowledge with us. Keep telling us how great it is from the sticks -lol.

A company I worked for had a leaking gas tank that was leaking for years. It took 300 tractor trailer dump truck loads of contaminated soil to be removed and then replaced with clean soil to satisfy the DEC in order to sell the building. Since when is burying the contaminated soil a good idea, remember Love Canal, they buried the contamination too and it came back to bite them in the butt.

what's really funny is where this dirt goes and what they do with it.....

something like in Cool Hand Luke and the warden's hole filled with dirt...

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

mccarthy, like the rest of his like are arrogant to say the least when taxpayers are in 'disagreement' with him and the administration. They do treat taxpayers like a dumbed down society. For mccarthy and the present administration, it is not about making the city a better place, because if that were true....there wouldn't be two hamilton hills. It is all about power, greed and the friends and family club and winning the next election. They are clearly out of touch with their constituents.

NO ONE IS LISTENING!!! Vote them all out!!

Why are you SB?

Now we have to know McCarthy personally to comment on his obviously poor financial skills?

Someone who 'finds' $40K to temporarily fix the HORRIBLE streets in Schenectady, cannot pay the $2 million dollar bill owed to the schools and yet proposes a $3 million golf couse project?!

That's the definition of a fiscally-delusional leader.

Or a fiscally delusional hick? Yeah the Junction will be back to normal in 3 days idiot. What McCarthy did in screwing the City school kids out of $2 million is disgusting. His golf course proposal was laughed out of City Hall. Anyone who thinks he is fiscally competent is an idiot.

Again, Glenville does not have the hidden fees the City taxpayers have. PLEASE get Roger Hull to expose this before the election. I for one want to know how far above the 2% tax cap these fees will run me - a City taxpayer.

Although fees do not fall under the tax cap, they damn well should!
