Occupy Albany is turning out to be one of most level-headed occupations in the nation. Although I disagree with their tenting out, the legal counsel they have in place is successfully negotiating the political minefield....unlike groups like Occupy Oakland whose Thug-like tactics are going to turn public sentiment against them quickly and give the authorities the green light to crack down on them... hard.

As far as building temporary shelters in the park- try doing that in your back yard and see how fast the local govt' comes down on you! Special rules for special people. Never applied fairly.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

If or when that takes place and they come down "hard" on the protesters, if this is carried to an extreme (remember Kent State) this will surely galvanize their movement to a new height.   Look what the near miss of that incident in Oakland produced with the veterans near fatal head wound.   I don't think the authorities wish to elevate it to that level and thereby provide a martyr for their cause.  Am sure the authorities in charge,Admin./Pols have made the police aware of this concern.  Besides are too many cameras out there now, unlike the 60,s type protests.   We as a civilized (?) nation are supposed to be above such results as beatings/mortalities as a result of peaceful protesting.   That only happens "over there" in those uncivilized countries, you know the ones we keep sending the troops over to to help establish a democracy, which as a byproduct of such, allows them the right to peaceful protest.   That being said, when the protesters abuse this privledge by turning violent, this only defeats their purpose and only "invites" the authorities to restore order.

Just my opinion...
Occupy has been somewhat effective in bringing the actual problems in our economy to the public eye.  I hope the
movement continues to accomplish some real change in the system.
However...
If the day ever comes where the Rich feel that they are actually losing power, that their grasp on the US Govt money tree
is slipping and the Wealthy and Powerful in this country think that they will be pushed down to the status of 'ordinary
citizen'...
There will be repression in the streets that this country has never experienced.

The rich and the powerful ARE the government/corporate interests.  There is NO DIFFERENCE.  The collective net worth of Congress went UP 25% between 2008 and now.  American household wealth dropped nearly 30% during that same time.  Obama says, "the greatest recession since the great depression?"  Not for Congress and government.  Occupiers are looking to the 1% to regulate the 1%. GOOD LUCK!  The occupiers are looking to government to regulate and have an even CLOSER relationship with corporate America.  The more power the people give to the state, the more intrenched the government will become with corporations.

This isn't the sixties where you only have a few views of the situation. This helps occupy in one way by allowing their message to get out, but hurts in another when they commit violence.

The public is very supportive of Occupy's ideals, but they are NOT supportive of their violent actions as they occur. The spokesmen of Occupy KNOW this VERY well and try their best to distance themselves from it, unlike the sixties. OWS is quickly COSTING jobs in and near Zacotti Park because of the foot traffic they are diverting. One business laid off 30 people last week because of it. The blocking of the Oakland port didn't help either as disgusted truckers (part of the 99%) couldn't understand why protesters were climbing over their trucks and wouldn't let them "just go home" There is a fine line between support and indifference. Occupy needs to tread very carefully.

Keep Wall Street Occupied:

Laughable and Naive.... Their postage costs more? They'll pass it on...to us. He thinks they have a mailroom? Not likely, more likely they contracted another company to answer and process their mail.
Spending an hour meeting about OWS, rather than lobbying? Who does he think BOA and Chase are, Podunk bank?

This is something that actually makes some sense.  This is something an INDIVIDUAL can do without the coerciveness of government.  Congratulations Box, maybe they are beginning to wake up.  Maybe they will start looking at the Federal Reserve and actually begin to understand how our currency is manipulated to keep those people on top(1%) in power, and the rest of us on the hamster wheel.  And yes, that includes Warren Buffett in the 1%, he'd rather government raise taxes on him, rather than the people wake up to the corrupt banking system he benefits from.  Buffett can protect his wealth from high taxes by moving his money around the world, but he can't hide if the Federal Reserve wasn't allowed to continue to inflate our currency by increasing the money supply, for which he and the wealthy benefit from greatly.

There must be some Paulites down there educating these flea baggers between their trips to the STD clinics.

I've been a credit union member for over 20 years....all of my loans and accounts are there, except for a single loan at a locally owned banked.

The Paul groupies don't educate, they convert.  Once you see past Paul as the Messiah, you'll see he's just one more
Republican Politician.
BTW, if Paul were elected president there would be no STD clinics... Picture that!  Talk about "waking up"... When all
those good Conservative teens come home to mom & dad to announce a STD or a teen pregnancy because Ron Paul closed
down Planned Parenthood taking away their access to Birth Control and STD treatments... That will be the wake up!

WE DONT NEED STD CLINICS......people have what they because they do what they do......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Very astute Senders... It's been that way since the beginning of civilization.
And because people will continue to  "have what they have,  because they will continue to do what they do" the country
needs STD Clinics.

Unless you have a cure for sex among humans, STD's will continue and unless you prevent them and also treat them,
STD's will thrive.
