The DEM morons have now created 5,000 imaginary jobs! Bella Abzug King it at yesterday's debate. After pleading for one more term-which she won't get. Of course, this County lost 1,753 jobs in seven years but it doesn't stop the new Joseph Goebbels. Make the lie big enough and repeat it enough and maybe a few idiots will start to believe it. Graham is right. By election day the DEM Goebbels will claim 50,000 new jobs with unemployment Downtown at 20%

Under McCarthy's idiot "leadership" this County lost 1,753 jobs in 7 years. No mater how many times Joseph Goebbels lies McCarthy lost jobs-except jobs created for him. When is he going to release his college transcripts?

The Unions and City workers know where Schenectady is - it's where they get their paychecks before they go home in a surrounding town. They work their 9-5's and leave...never to return to the City for the weekends.

How many Lottery or DOT workers leave the building during the workday for lunch...not many. They won't walk through the City.

Schenectady is not a place where businesses want to open (without Plex bribery money) and working folks won't  come to live. No middle class working family would opt to put their kids in a sub-par school system or in a dangerous neighborhood.

Loss of 1,700+ jobs in Schenectady County, poor schools, front page crime every week and the highest taxes to boot.

The City's only hope at this point is Roger Hull.

McCarthy lies about jobs like he lies about Union College and cutting expenses. How is Goofy cutting expenses when spending is up $1.8 MILLION under his joke budget? College's don't have to pay taxes but Roger Hull invested $26 million of private funds into College Park and McCarthy is crying about it. The only hope this hack has of tricking enough voters is to keep lying about his taxing record.

I think you need a refresher course here.........there already are supposedly '4000K new jobs' and 'new businesses' AND the taxes and fees are still rising to the highest in the state! People are walking away from their homes in record numbers because they can't afford the taxes, while the rich downstate absentee slum lords are picking them up for next to nothing and receiving a section 8 check every month.

If Gary McCarthy wins this election.....nothing will change and in fact things will get worse. But behold...he will be the proud mayor of SCUM-nectady CITY!!!

Right, when it first opened.

For the most part, the lottery people are VERY glad they are in a secure building and they stay inside 9-5. Everyone knows that walking Downtown is a crap shoot. People begging for money, looney toons waiting for ...well I'm not quite sure what they're waiting for.

Personally, I can't use the law library without being harassed each and everytime I walk Downtown. Speaking as a female, it's not safe to walk alone in that area.

Then again, at least in the lottery building security is better than at the Gazetto building.

which downtown u talking about? people can walk downtown without fear throughout the day. to say otherwise is a damn lie. no woman has been accosted downtown in my memory. it is as safe as your house. as for people leaving, that happens everywhere; schenectady is no different than gloversville, troy and albany

You are spot on! We have 2 friends who work for mvp and THEY DO NOT LEAVE THE BUILDING until it is time to go home! And when they do leave the building, they don't walk alone!!

Not to mention the treacherous ride home in the winter....they say you take your life in your hands driving on those roads.

Monday,9:00am - get a woman (you'll probably have a problem with that) and park in the Barrett Street parking lot. Let that woman walk (by herself) from the parking lot simply up to the County Clerks office on State. She will be approached and (for lack of a better word) 'spoken' to by those constantly lining the sidewalks.

Happens to me everytime. I will absolutely not go Downtown by myself 9 am or 5 pm. It's not safe. But, by all means SB, let your loved ones go there. Mine don't.

Thanks Senders, I do have my mace, but honestly I don't need this hassle just to use Lexis/Westlaw. I can safely go to a different library in Saratoga County and not have to worry about walking by myself or at night.

From my personal experiences Downtown, it's not safe for a woman to walk by herself in that area. My friends from Siemans won't do it once they were followed back to their offices after using the ATM and the people from the lottery I've met say the very same thing.

DOT, Lottery, Siemans workers - they're not moving into the City - they're glad as hell they don't pay City taxes and don't have to live in an unsafe City.

Wonder why the 4,000 jobs McCarthy created didn't come Downtown or to Jay Street. They're are PLENTY of empy offices and buildings - Center City for one.
