Metroplex owns it with whose money?  Does Metroplex pay property taxes on the garage?

no it pays no taxes on the garage. it is supported by debt payments, paid through sales taxe. so, i guess, taxpayers do support it.

here is some history --- it was a white elephant when a former city admin [which will remain anonymous] built it and discovered to its fiscal horror that it was unsustainable. it added to the city';s fiscal crisis 'under a former admin and that jacked up the city;s deficit into the millions.. metroplex bought it as a bailout to the city

The taxpayers money built this garage and taxpayer money maintains it every year.

Why is it that the taxpayer money is always classified as 'free' money by the DEMS. Metroplex grants = county taxpayer money and owned/built/maintained by Metroplex means that this is yet another taxpayer funded pet project.


But let's not focus on the 7,000 jobs which left the County in the past 7 years....

no, the city transferred the debt to metroplex. the city no longer pays anything on it... the debt service was like 800k per year, which was more than the city fathers could stomach

Not to mention the $$$$$ that taxpayers are doling out for the county nursing home!!! Both a waste of taxpayer's money....the nursing home should be sold and privatized and the garage should have never been built and the work should have been bid out!

The County taxpayers have to pay for McCarthy's idiotic parking garage. One million dollars a year because the City is broke due to DEM fiscal incompetence. Meanwhile McCarthy was caught by the Times Union lying about job creation. Funny how he failed to mention his lies at the big debate. While McCarthy sat on Metrograft 1,753 jobs were lost.

All Hull has to do is mail out a copy of a City taxpayer bill and show the 'fees' associated. The taxpayers know we're being bilked by the current 'leaders'  and McCarthy has PROVEN that he can't cut a budget or help the homeowners.
