This NY State Labor website has an unemployment statistic of 6.8% is for the combined area of Albany-Schenectady-Amsterdam.

Per your pal DV, he posted the site http://www.City-data.com on another thread. This deals only with Schenectady. Per that site, in March 2011, in Schenectady the unemployment rate is 9% and the State unemployment is 8%.

a) I'll know better than to rely on stats or charts from DV
b) Your stats are for a combined area, not just Schenectady

Thought you and DV would list correct data.

Gary McCarthy also lied that he cut taxes! Where? 2 years ago he wanted to raise taxes MORE than even Stratton. That's why Schenectady has the highest taxes per capita in the State. McCarthy only wins when he runs unopposed. When he ran against Al he got crushed. Al didn't have tv ads on every 10 minutes. Put that next to the Firefighters unable to buy proper gear this year.

Even the cops weren't sidetracked by the useless $340K survey grant. After the Gazette incident happened and it became apparent that 1/2 the force doen't have tasers - it's evident that the City leaders are failing to fund even the basics for the police department.  

Honestly, all Hull needs to do is stand back and wait for something else to happen in the City. So far there were pit bulls, shootings, failed abductions, robberies..all within a two month span of time. It's a Hull slam dunk when the current Mayor doesn't even address this dire mess our City has become under his watch.

Gary McCarthy is schenectady's Kosiur!! Only difference is that McCarthy has NO new plan on the table...it's just the same old bullcrap. Where as Kosiur had a 'failed sex offender law' that he mistakenly thought would win him an election.

Sorry, Rachel, but these type of job offers don't actually come until AFTER they fall to resounding defeat.  Look for him to have something by the 2nd week in November.
