Alias I think your question is a good one. The people at the meeting last night and 6 out of 1 people on the planning comission would like to see a buisness which has a low traffic volume and a site plan that is one respectful of the neighbors.
How about 1st Class rebuilds and maybe has 1 or 2 apartments and a side store like before? Low impact to the neighborhood, new building, small shop that might offer something the residents may want to buy....even a small neighborhood grocer with just limited amount of offerings (like Little Super used to be on Helderberg Ave.) |
| JUST BECAUSE SISSY SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO...BUT HE THINKS IT DOES!!!!! JUST BECAUSE MC1 SAYS SO DOESN'T MAKE IT SO!!!!! |

The news anchor DID promote Rotterdam to "City."
Who voted FOR CVS? Ronnie was FOR it here, so did he change his mind? |

His vote was the last. Gotta give him credit. Even though it was 6-0 when it got to him, considering everybody else on the board actually listened to the developers and the residents, Ronnie stuck to his guns and the decision he made before hearing anything last night. If anything, considering the fact that he commented on this previously as a concerned citizen at the public hearing of the town board, I believe he should have abstained. EVEN THE HEAD OF THE COMMITTEE WHO HAS A RELATIVE WHO WORKS FOR CVS VOTED AGAINST IT, BUT NOT RONNIE. |

Going last and STILL voting YES shows just how stupid this imbicile is. He was probably thinkinig if he voted no that people on this forum would bust his chops for changing his previously documented agreement...frankly, had he voted NO along with the others, I would have felt that maybe he DID listen to the people and based his vote on that. Instead it's obvious that he simply doesn't care what anyone has to say...Ron is going to do what Ron wants to do, right or wrong! |

The project was just too damn big for that area!! Couldn't cvs have just scaled it down and scrapped the drive thru?
Not to mention that it would leave 5 corners with an empty building just like hamburg st still has one.
Rotterdam is packed solid with residential and businesses already. Results of decades of poor planning.
My only question is........why aren't they looking to the west end of rotterdam? They would pull Princetown and Duanesburg residents as well as rotterdamians? |

Let'em build the CVS at 4 corners and allow the 5 corners CVS turn into the inevitable Dollar General. That is the direction of Rotterdam. |

Or we could just re-arrange the deck chairs instead... but you do have a point... The west side of town has suffered far too long without a dollar general. |
