70 year old houses need to be replaced? Guess we'd better tear down the entire Stockade/GE Realty Plot/Union Street Corridor. Who trusted this guy with any kind of historic document?
You see my point.
The CVS at Altamont/Chrysler is unnecessarily ugly. Esthetics versus commerce is a false choice. The CVS in Glenville doesn't look too bad, IMO. Not a bad fence, separating it from the neighbors.

You can't compare the stockade, GE Realty plot and Union Street corridor with the 70+ year old homes in question -- if you think they are equivalent to those --- then you are goofier than I ever thought possible.

As for historic preservation of buildings, I have always supported preserving those buildings which were APPROPRIATE to preserve - or in some cases - allow for  "prudent adaptive reuse".    However, I don't believe that every old building is worthy of historic preservation.

Your attitude is exactly why we have such high taxes in town --- you oppose progress and economic development.

No, don't put words into my mouth.  I don't oppose progress and economic development, I support it, as long as it is well planned and does not deter people from living in town comfortably, and I would hope that this would be something you would think about.  I mean, why don't we put this business in right in front of your house?

I support the new CVS at 4 Corners and understand that something is "in the works" for the 5 Corners site ... so I am not worried about the "shuffle".

What, your mystery business that you already mentioned to the Supervisor?  He doesn't have much time to do anything about it, and in fact, at the last town board meeting, he pushed back the time for a decision on this project, which will make it impossible to bring in the new business that you're sure is coming by the end of his term.

I have never advocated or participated in the boycott of a business in the town of Rotterdam nor will I ever. In fact -- despite what some would have you believe I never bashed or boycotted a certain BBQ on Burdeck Street ... I only stated that I had not been there yet.    From what I hear - some people like it and some people don't -- and someday I may make it over there to try it out and make up my own mind.

Not in so many words, but you have stated plenty of times how there are different businesses that you would never go to and would encourage people to not go to, not exactly helping local businesses (well, of course that would depend on your definition of "local," which I understand yours includes out of state businesses as local).

Finally, I am not a "babysitter" -- if the current Supervisor and current Deputy Supervisor lost the number after months of unprofessionally refusing to make a courtesy call -- I am NOT going to "save their butts" now.

This just goes to show how much you want to help this town and this wonderful business that is just waiting for the Supervisor's call.  If it were me and I had a business that wanted to come into town, I would have called the Supervisor by now, if the Supervisor had been given my name and number or not.  It's obvious that what you're stating is an out and out lie.

In 3 1/2 months, the Magnificent 7 and Ms. Marco will ride into Town Hall and restore pride, sanity, efficiency and integrity to town government  .. and I will work with them to bring the business that I previously mentioned and others to town.

Good thing you didn't mention names in this.  That way, you can say that whoever is elected are the ones that you deemed the "Magnificent 7."  I wonder, does that include McGarry and team?  Well, if they're voted in, then I bet your answer would be yes.

I would have no problem with this project being built right across the street from where I live -- in fact .. our property is zoned light industrial .. so if they are willing to make us a good offer.

Don't put words in my mouth either -- there is only one local business that I said I would not do business with as long as it is owned by a certain person.

As for my definition of local business ---  it is the same definition used by the "BUY LOCAL" movement --- which advocates buying food and other products preferably direct from PRODUCERS and GROWERS within 100miles of where you live   (so that includes parts of Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut) ....   and as I have relatives and property interests in other states --- i do purchase products direct from local producers and growers in those parts of the country as well.

What I stated is the absolute truth and very few people have tried as much as I have to help Mr. DelGallo succeed.    If anything, I remained supportive of him for too long --- hoping beyond hope that he would listen to reason.   And even if I did go down to Town Hall tomorrow with the phone number to give it to him again  --- it is highly unlikely that he would even be there  or that he would even speak to me.

Mr. McGarry is NOT one of the Magnificent 7  ....  you can find the names of the Magnificent 7 on the very attractive blue and white signs scattered around town or at the Re-Unite Rotterdam website.

What property deeds does this clown have in his own name under which he is taxed? NOT ONE!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Get a grip DVOR...statements like this make you and your candidates a laughing stock!   I cannot imagine the Dems using the "Magnificent 7" as their label.   A campaign sign with that verbiage would cause all kinds of traffic accidents!

Dvr...since this was the exact same mantra during the REVITALIZE ROTTERDAM campaign..........rotterdamians will be a bit less reluctant to believe it again!!! Sure, some folks will believe and vote for the lie again, some always do without thought of the negative consequences and how it will impact their town.

Did this jackazz really just say the "Magnificent Seven"???????????????????

Ok, assuming they ARE, which four will lose their races? ...because if I remember correctly only three of the seven survived the battle.

WOW -- you are really more clueless than I thought -- EVERYONE of the Re-Unite Rotterdam Team will be on the November ballot with the Democratic, Conservative, Independence, Working Families and Lower My Taxes party lines.   On Primary night -- the only contest that was lost was the primary for the GOP nomination for Town Justice and that was quite close.

Whether you like CVS or not or think we need new buisness in town to help control our taxes can are all great discussions and could be worthy of their own discussion.  The real discussion is about this proposed buisness is its massive size, how it is invading a residental neighborhoods quality of life.  When you boil it down these two before mentioned items is why the proposed housing properties to change are zoned residental not buisness.

Why can't I compare the Stockade to 70 year old homes? I think the other posters will be able to follow my logic, even if you can't. All  historic buildings were once 70 years old, BTW.
