So basically, it is possible, that anyone from out of the district could have gone and lied about where they lived and voted.....yes.

Apparently it is a secret. I am sure they stacked the deck so it passed. The way it was run has "banana republic" written all over it. The democrap way.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Ya got that right.  People are telling me it was a real banana republic style vote.  I hear there was a person wearing a Latham Fire Department coat voting.  I heard the same thing about the checking voter eligibility, that it was very "loose".  If it passes, it sounds like fraud written all over it.

Most of the people I spoke with were there to vote against the bond. The way it was done was FUBAR.

Voters reject $3.5M Pine Grove fire station upgrade

..................http://www.dailygazette.com/ne.....gt;..............The resolution to renovate and expand the aging fire house on Dunnsville Road was shot down 201-68, according to an official from the fire district. Fire Commissioner Herb LeTarte III said turnout was high for the vote and suspects the cost of the projects stirred anti-tax sentiment among district residents.

shot down 201-68,

Gee...that was a close vote!

Just like the rems vote........dragging folks out of their homes for a proposal that should have never been presented nor made any sense!!

Looks like this fire dept will have to live within their means like the rest of the folks.

I hear dist #2 is looking to do the same thing. Perhaps they will change their mind now that they see how the residents will shoot down ANY form of tax increase!!!

Holy sh*t!!!  That's nearly 3 to 1 opposed!!!  That's worst than the REMS vote!!

It looks like No New Taxes is a STRONG sentiment among the voters.  And district 5 is a fairly affluent district. Democrats are doing themselves NO FAVORS running retired bureaucrats and cops.

Help me Rhonda ... what will the poor FD do now?  Looks like their new toys on their santa wish-list will need to wait a few years to have a bigger barn.
