From what I've heard, they're looking for a whole remodel.

But hey, that was from a former chief, I could be wrong.

We certainly can't ask  the nattering nayboobs   (like GB, MT, MC, KR  et al)  to volunteer ...  they are lazy leeches who don't lift a finger to help their community or anyone else.

So exactly what has district #5 been doing with the millions they have collected over 31 years? How long have they known that they are 'out of standard'?

And again....who was the brain child that put a generator and the communication center in the BASEMENT of a flood prone building????

In the middle of a deep economic recession and no jobs....any fire dept should be grateful to have a building for the fire trucks!!

You are the only person I could ever think of (besides some people actually already in office) that would think that raising taxes is GOOD for people, at the same time that businesses are running away.

If your home's furnace was 40 years old, konked out and needed to be fixed -- would you freeze all winter long until the economy recovered to fix it ???????????   Or would you make the INVESTMENT to fix it now?     Sensible , sane, and rational people would FIX IT NOW.

(Actually, a sensible, sane, rational person would look at the fact that the furnace was anywhere over 25 years old, that it may need some maintenance / upgrade, so at this point, they would have had 15 years to plan, and that's giving them a LOT longer than many people would, but why let facts get in the way?)

VOTE NO ON DISTRICT #5 REFERENDUM

Sane, sensible, rational people that knew they had a 40 year old furnace would begin saving money 10 years earlier to replace it.  Businesses figure in depreciation on assets and budget accordingly to replace them.  Businesses don't act surprised when their delivery truck tires go bald, and run to their customers and ask if it's alright to jack their prices up because they didn't plan.

Who is responsible for reviewing Rotterdam fire department's budget and accounting practices?

Most folks who actually own homes, have their furnaces serviced/checked every year or so. They don't wait until it KONKSOUT before they seek service. Sensible, sane and rational, responsible folks would have it checked periodically and save for a future replacement when and if needed. Why? Because they don't have the luxury of the flow of taxpayer's dollars to grab at every corner. Folks who work for a living have X-amount of dollars and budget to work within. They plan ahead and make provisions.

What has district #5 been doing with all of their millions over the past 31 years?
