I'm sorry but I don't believe any of this misguided hype. I live the NY experience every single day. Over half of NYS jobs are in the public sector.  Residents are fleeing the state as are businesses!! NYS is the highest taxed in the country and has the highest business taxes/fees in the country. It would be most interesting to see exactly what kind of businesses these 'new entrepreneurs' are opening. And exactly 'who' they are.

Like I said.......I live the NY experience every single day and quite frankly.....I don't believe it!!

you may be able to be an entrepreneur and pay yourself.....OR.....you can 'share' in the minimum wage crap and not pay yourself

The Republicans say..."GOVERNMENT REGULATION AND TAXES ARE KILLING SMALL BUSINESSES"

Small businesses say...

McClatchy reached out to owners of small businesses, many of them mom-and-pop operations, to find out whether they indeed were being choked by regulation, whether uncertainty over taxes affected their hiring plans and whether the health care overhaul was helping or hurting their business.
Their response was surprising.
None of the business owners complained about regulation in their particular industries, and most seemed to welcome it. Some pointed to the lack of regulation in mortgage lending as a principal cause of the financial crisis that brought about the Great Recession of 2007-09 and its grim aftermath.

(McClatchy: Regulations, taxes aren't killing small business)

the mortgage lending practices were happening for the past 40years....and more so in the past 20....why? because promoting home ownership
as the PRINCIPLE AMERICAN DREAM and making it happen (no matter how wrong) gets you votes.....feel good now?....

the only reason home ownership is promoted is to levy/equalize and collect tax revenue for someone other than the homeowner.....

public worker entitlements being the number one
and the BIGGIE unions number two......

Bush(both) knew about it
Clinton knew about it
Reagan knew about it
Obama certainly knows about it
these folks aren't groomed in a pet store

the list is endless after they were able to control influence and change monetary policies.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

New York's D.C. delegation among least friendy to business, SBE Council says
The Business Review (Albany)

New York's congressional delegation was ranked among the lowest for business friendliness, according to a scorecard by the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council.

The group, which is headquartered in a suburb of Washington, D.C., ranked U.S. senators and representatives based on their votes that impact “the profitability and survivability of small firms.”

SBE Council said the top delegations were, in order, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Idaho, Nebraska, Utah, Alabama, Kansas, Louisiana, Kentucky and South Carolina.

New York ranked 45th, followed by Massachusetts, Connecticut, Hawaii, Vermont and Rhode Island.

You can join the SBE Council online through a secure payment system:
Business Start-Up Level     $50
General Council Member     $100
Entrepreneurs' Council     $500
The CEO Council                   $1000

Doesn't sound like a kind of group a young broke entrepreneur might want to join.  They appear to mimic the exact same language as the Republican Party.

Does anyone posting here consider themselves to be entrepreneurial ? anyone with enough initiative, imagination and ambition to be an  entrepreneur ?  anyone with a marketable skill good enough to  to BE  an entrepreneur- and  you know- maybe buy a house and raise a family ?  I really think not.

Myself and any of my friends that I know ( one  used to gross 18 million a year - a hundred grand in payroll some weeks - now lives with his mom ) have never had any of these  goofy conversation that have  anything to do with  any president or any political philosophy. You are a sick sad uneducated, unmotivated bunch with no imagination .

Do you actually know anything or do you just cut and paste a bunch of list ? Very sad at the least- pathetically sad at the worst.

Still don't buy it!! NYS is the least business friendly state. The public sector employees more than the private sector. Taxes and fees excel more than any other state.

Ain't buyin' it!

If Fireside can make good pizza they can go ANYWHERE  they want - in or out of New York
A tattoo removal business would be a success ANYWHERE

Im not buying anything you say either- I don't know any 'entrepreneur ' that would even look at any of these stupid lists.

In my opinion.....people do what they do....and in certain areas people TAKE what other people do, and make it THEIRS....meaning that
the masses CAN take from the person who's sweat is on those American dollars and then back it up with "my electorate told me
I was entitled"..................................................................JMHO

Spoken like a guy who collects a direct deposit every Friday morning, Yes, I am an entrepreneur. No, O don't gross 18 mil. I know people who do much more and I know people who do much less. And I own a house, cars and pet. Yes I also pay close to $20,000 in prop. taxes in this state for the property I own, the very highest taxes in relationship to value right here in the Schitty of Schitnectady.

Your statement reminds me of the racist who says "I have a black friend and he doesn't mind slavery." Small businesses are slaves today that live at the end of a barrel of a gun in New York State. Do you want to know what happened to my business recently since we are swapping anectdotes (see, now you know 2 entrepreneurs)??? I had an "audit" from a state agency that collects payment from me. They schedule it for a certain day and I round up three years of records and the auditor comes and spends about a full day going over almost every bit of paper I have have. When he is done he announces I owe the state "a little more than five." So relax it is $5.20 to be exact. And he shows me, and then I open the folder and show him the proper receipt for a certain payment which he thought was to an employee and seemed to have missed. It turns out that I don't owe $5.20, but he says "Don't worry, unless you owe more than $50.00 we don't even send out a bill from the comptroller's office."

It so reminds me of "I am from the government and I am here to help you."

I  spend my days keeping records to make bureaucrats happy that I am in compliance, so I guess I am no longer such an entrepreneur as I am a record keeper and tax collector for the State. And being that I am the modern day Jew of 1933, I get to pay higher for every service available as sanctioned by the state of New York. I get to pay more for electricity and gas, phone service, internet, property taxes and anything else the state or local governments regulate. The state says "Just charge the business owner more, he is evil and he deserves to pay more." and the politicians say "Those rich are not paying their fair share- MAKE THEM PAY MORE so you poor salaried people can pay less!" This is the demagoguery of hatefulness towards a certain segment that results in communistic holocausts. The state is actually using its bully pulpit to direct hate towards small businesses and entrepreneurs, and as in England- one day the low, lazy and stupid classes will rise up to attack, murder and seize from the small business class of people in wild mob style- because of the officially sanctioned legislation, discrimination and holocaust language of the left. And we see this is already happening in the cities, don't we. And the police will sit there, and the state will sit there and the politicians of the left will rub their hands together in evil glee. And so will you Somebody, and Box.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

I work all over the US-  and every state tries to get money from me- no bull

Yeah, you are right- I should of left my elderly parents behind and gotten out sooner. I was stupid and made a huge capital investment in my community, poured more in, doubled down that it would get better, took care of 2 ill relatives until they died spending 16 months of my life when I could have been living in Cali and soaking up sun. I am a chump for expecting the state and place that I grew up in not to turn on me for being a small business person. I admit it all. I am a sucker to have not left when I was 22 years old. Other than that one big summer in Montana at 21, I should have gotten out and staid out. But it is too late for that now. But my CPA still can't get my Schit Scitty property tax chopped down. That is my fault for fixing my place up. All my fault. When the progressives stick us in the gas chambers after they have our wealth to redistribute, then I can keep on blaming myself.

as every is on their own level.....but when entrepreneurs such as Oprah/Warren Buffet etc all sit around saying how no one gives enough so
we need the government to go get it and then hand it out?.....THEY DONT KNOW MY LIFE....which is FINE with me.....but they have no right
to either claim I am "poor slob middle class idiot" or that I am "rich and need to give out more"

I'm happy you do what you do, keep doing it if it makes you happy, that is why this is America and YOU CAN....congratulations on your choices
and I will congratulate myself on my choices......

but, when I see a large percentage of Schenectady on 'help' and the government thinks they need to redistribute because of the class warfare they
started, and EVERYONE who gets the 'help' has a cellphone/clothing/jewelry that costs more than my cell phone....THEY CAN KISS MY A$$ AND
GET OFF MY BACK......

And the Hollywood mouth/face/a** pieces can drink a nice tall glass of 'shut the F up'....................

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
