Ch 10 just reported that the river will go to 234 ft which will result in the city being flooded throughout the Stockade and as far as Broadway !!!!
They said the last time it was near that was still several feet less and it was 1914.
They reported the Schdy PD is ordering people to leave, move vehicles and take pets with them. They said people can put their cars in the Ramada Inn lot and where the Front St. pool. SOunds stupid if that will be flooded.
Do we think the guy who taxes the homeowners obviously is not providing shelter for his benefactors

Based on what Ch 10 reported, it sounds like DV's condo will be under water. Oh, his unbuilt condo. .
If Ch 10 is saying it accurately, that ALCO area will be flooded, and when those demx steal from the taxpayers, who the hell would buy a condo in an ar3ea that would get flooded.

Although I agree that is in, in part, the government's role to provide emergency shelter in a time of a catastrophic emergency. But where are the churches and other non-profits, friends, family? We have become too accustomed to depending on Gov almighty to take care of us.
Sorry, but the folks who live in the stockade area know better than anyone else that they can expect flooding at least once a year.
Stockade flooding is not 'catastrophic'.......it's to be expected! imho

Congratulations go out to our esteemed Chairwoman of the most effective county legislative chamber in America- Judy Dagostino. Together with Sheriff Dominick Dagostino, and Mayor McCarthy they have headed off one of Mother Nature's greatest potential disasters in the history of the Capital District if not the state of New York. They proudly took their cue from the exultant leadership in the White House and of Governor Cuome (whom I believe will be the next and possibly greatest President of the United States of America.)
Now the serious work of clean up, and preventing further loss of life in the STockade. Through careful planning and the hard work of the Working Together team, a major loss of life has been averted with total team coordination taking place where the town of Duanesburg was under most dire threat. Hundred of potential victims have had their lives saved by Sheriff Dominick and the fine emergency staff at our county. This proves once again that the people of the county will never return control to the nattering naybobs of negativity that destroyed Schenectady in the radical G.O.P.
Thank you, Judy. You are a woman of distinction and along with the Mayor, Sheriff, former Sheriff Buffardi, Congressman Tonko and Legislator (former first responder) Tony Jasenski, you saved countless lives!
the nattering naybobs of negativity that destroyed Schenectady in the radical G.O.P. !
Sounds familiar what is this your 3rd account here

OMG, LOL, that is defiitly DVOR. I can't believe he would even use his same catch phrase. Must have forgotten which account he was posting under. Anyone else find it funny that he was pretending to be a woman?
Sorry to bring humor into this situation. While it is funny that DVOR is pretending to be a woman or was pretending to be a man (who could tell?) They are now predicting a once in a 500 year flood for the stockade. We need to put political differences aside and do whatever it takes to help out in the next week. Let's all keep our eyes ears and hearts open to our neighbors and do what we can.
Unfortunately the storm isn't even over and they are using this for political points, as if they had super powers and "saved lives." You really have to wonder if they think everyone is flat out stupid and gullible.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
OK, this is a "ps" to my last post. HOW the hell did Buffardi have anything to do with "saving people's lives" or some other crap when in fact he is a college instructor at the community college. That is not to say that any of the other ones DID save any lives, but at least they are currently IN office! WTF!!

SCHENECTADY, NY (WTEN) - The City of Schenectady is advising residents of the Stockade neighborhood, especially those who live on the dead end streets that run from Front St to the river and are historically prone to flooding, to remove their vehicles in preparation for the imminent flood.
The main parking area for use by the residents of the Stockade area will now be the Union College Park parking lot, which is located on Nott St across from the new Golub building.
The City is working on providing transportation from the parking lot to the temporary shelter that will be established at the garage on Foster Ave.
All previously mentioned parking spots are no longer viable as they will be under water.
The Foster Ave garage is expected to be operational by 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
The flooding is expected to start during the overnight hours and will peak at an elevation of >229' at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
This is going to be a major flood event and the City is advising that the residents treat it as a serious situation.
Residents should be prepared to evacuate upon order and should be prepared to take their pets with them.
Evacuation at this time is not mandated but the city is looking for the residents to cooperate and they are strongly encouraged to start the evacuation process.

Gary McCarthy: "The flood was expected to reach far deeper into the city and into the village of Scotia than in floods of recent decades, swelling to Erie Boulevard and, perhaps, Broadway in downtown Schenectady", he said.

Yes, the Stockade gets flooded, but the news is talking flooding perhaps right across Erie Blvd to Broadway. I understand Erie Blvd is being sandbagged. That could be a near catastrophe, far worse than any spring floods
