Ummmm the tax district is over...isnt this like running for president promising to bring down the berlin wall? LOL
The tax district will be over when REMS starts running like a real business, keeps business records of income and expenditures, and refunds the town the proper amount from ALS calls.

Ummmmmmm...No...It's like running for president, and your opponent is the person who wants to re-build the Berlin Wall. This time BIGGER AND BETTER...and it will cost the taxpayers twice as much. LOL
I'd imagine it's hard to raise money when you're not in political power handing out taxpayer money to the wealthy businesses. You know how that is...Right? How much did Chazen "contribute" to the Ang and the GP republican tickets? Sometimes ya gotta grease the skids with taxpayer money if ya know what I mean...Right Greeny?
This is money that should be sent to REMS and our other first responders. It is an outrage that an organization such as the SOI would allow these individuals to sully their chambers. I will speak to Legislator Santabarbara about this offense. These people don't even want your children to receive the proper medical care when needed.

again.....seriously?

Oh, please. If you disagree with the NNTP, then don't send them money. If you agree that REMS should have public funding, then you are the public, send them your funds. As for our other first responders, we're already paying ever increasing taxes for them, including all the overtime that the town / city police forces get, along with the fact that we pay for the County Sheriff when we already have our own police force. Who is it that doesn't want the children to receive proper medical care? It's just the fact of who is going to pay for that care, and where the people who give that care are initially located, but it has absolutely nothing to do with whether they get the care or not.
Talking to Mr. Santabarbara won't do much, you're probably better going for someone that's a little higher up the food chain, see if you can get Lady Dagostino's ear. Maybe she'll be willing, Santabarbara only grabs coattails and rides along.
By the way, I'm still going along with the idea that you're support of REMS is what is pushing you to say that since they didn't get the tax district and that they're no longer a leech sucking off of the taxpayers. Well, prior to the time when REMS "needed" the funding of the taxpayers, they still didn't have all the equipment they truly needed to "do it for the children." I've personally witnessed where they didn't have supplies to treat children for injuries they sustained, and they had to figure out a way to use adult supplies to treat, which didn't fully protect them during treatment / transport.
The No New Tax Party is a great opportunity for Schenectady Voters to make a statement against the status quo.
We have been hit with new taxes (garbage fee) that are claimed to be non-taxes. While our tax rate hasn't gone up, we were hit with an assessment upgrade that was ridiculous and our taxes have increased dramatically. In addition to that the city administration can claim that they haven't raised our taxes because they've raised our fees instead. Water fees, sewer fees and garbage fees.
Schenectady County has no fewer than 120 different taxing entities and that includes Metroplex. City Schools suffer the worst educational rating numbers than all other upstate schools. In fact we share with NYC schools. Your REMS would have brought that number to 121.
No New Taxes (and fees) should be the theme this election year. It would not surprise me if Rotterdam, Glenville, Niskayuna and Duanesburg have considered off-loading some of their tax burden into the category and under the guise of "fees."
After all, the State of New York has done the same thing.
they knew the bubble was bursting and ran around elevating assessments and ratings....they keep the tax rate the same because they know the masses will just be 'defeated'......
still not enough blood let?---let's tack on fees....
what an F'EN joke
time to start the shredder
