Aliens may destroy humanity to protect other civilisations, say scientists
Rising greenhouse emissions could tip off aliens that we are a rapidly expanding threat, warns a report

It may not rank as the most compelling reason to curb greenhouse gases, but reducing our emissions might just save humanity from a pre-emptive alien attack, scientists claim.

Watching from afar, extraterrestrial beings might view changes in Earth's atmosphere as symptomatic of a civilisation growing out of control – and take drastic action to keep us from becoming a more serious threat, the researchers explain.

This highly speculative scenario is one of several described by a Nasa-affiliated scientist and colleagues at Pennsylvania State University that, while considered unlikely, they say could play out were humans and alien life to make contact at some point in the future.

Shawn Domagal-Goldman of Nasa's Planetary Science Division and his colleagues compiled a list of plausible outcomes that could unfold in the aftermath of a close encounter, to help humanity "prepare for actual contact".

In their report, Would Contact with Extraterrestrials Benefit or Harm Humanity? A Scenario Analysis, the researchers divide alien contacts into three broad categories: beneficial, neutral or harmful.

What a pile of donkey dust. The government says that there are no aliens but to scare people into believing this BS now there are aliens. Paul Krugman mentioned something like this on a show last week.

Paul Krugman is so frustrated by the lack of support for another round of stimulus spending that he's now calling for a fake alien invasion of the United States to spur a World War II-style defense buildup.

Krugman was a guest on CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS" on Sunday. Speaking with Zakaria and Harvard economist Ken Rogoff, he made the same case he has been making for years--that deficits are not the top economic concern of the day. Krugman noted that the effort of World War II helped end the Great Depression, and joked that something similar was needed today.

I wonder if Box would be OK with teaching the NASA Alien theory in public schools.  Extraterrestrial beings are as plausible as the second coming of Christ.  We have as much scientific proof of God as we do for extraterrestrial aliens.  

Government funded NASA scientists are considered smart when they are "preparing" for a close encounter.  But those wacky Christians are just a bunch of backward rednecks "preparing" for their rapture.

The Aliens have already landed, and are proceeding to destroy the earth.  They began with the bogus election of George Worst Bush in 2000 (who was obviously one of their own) and have been successful in their plot, except for the election of Barack Obama, who is one of US.

Just take a long look at Michelle Bachmann and listen to her (obviously coached) campaign speeches.

Rick Perry is also an alien... but he's from a different galaxy entirely! (Even the aliens think Perry is nuts!)

You forgot Pelosi, Frank, Reid, Sanders, Gibbs, and the rest of the liberal aliens in Congress on both sides.
