According to a Gazette classified ad in the Monday,8/15 edition, page C8,Business Property #103 classification, the establishment is up for sale.   Though it seems it is still open.    Verified the 1599 Union St address is in fact the business in question.   Remind anyone of anything?   Crepes anyone?

I'd heard the location was in trouble. I just don't eat that much barbecue so I've only been in there once.I think some of these places just don't advertise enough.

It's too bad when any business isn't doing well. Advertising does in fact help.............but that is expensive too.

He's been trying to sell privately for months. I was approached months ago. He has another place in Cobleskill that does better, without our moron politicians with the hand out. As anyone in this business knows it's a tough grind running one spot properly.

No shortage of choices on Upper Union Street. Gershon's is right across the street and there's no parking. Plus all the Metrograft "progress" tearing up the street. A good guy, had a place in Raleigh and hope he can find a buyer.

That deli or whatever it was did okay there for quite some time. I think Cobleskill might just have more of a barbecue clientele than upper Union. Also if you were just driving through it wasn't that noticeable from the street as the Cobleskill place. It can take awhile for people to "find" a place. The guy is nice, I think.

Schenectady is hardly a BBQ town. He did well initially but Union Street is a lunch only spot. People aren't eating huge brisket sandwiches everyday. If they want deli they go to Gershon's. Many places for a slice like packed I Love NY Pizza. More and more are brown bagging it with Obama/Taxin Tonko still in office.

...lots of rubbin down at the labor "temple" (aka democrap HQ) which makes you wonder what they plan to "worship."

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Parking is horrendous on upper Union Street --- except to go to the credit union and the AAA --- my family hasn't eaten or shopped on upper Union Street in years.

the best BBQ is the BBQ that I make ----  same with my chili ...  it (the chili) made its public debut at the  Rotterdam Community Day a few weeks ago --- you'll have to wait until the next event and pay $5 a bowl to enjoy it.

Sounds great! You should send some down to the Gazetto. It might clear up their constipated thinking. If they are running to the can they will have less time here. And more time for their first book -lol.

Have you even been to upper Union??? There is ALWAYS parking in front of the Karate School and if not, all the side streets have space. I've NEVER had problems down there...and I was there yesterday.

DV, this is your second failed attempt to state that 'parking' is an issue. Maybe you need to get a bike.
