From what I have heard -- Spiderman (the musical) sucks --- I wouldn't waste my time or money to go see it. But Westside Story is one of the classic musicals .... and Proctor's is the finest theater in America to watch such events.
High School performances are great, too --- but that is no substitute for the marvelous experience of watching a time-less classic Broadway musical at a time-less classic gem of a theater - Proctor's.

At least if I go to a high school musical, I'm supporting children that I care about.
Going to Proctors is like taking money away from these same students - no PILOT payments made to the City or schools, summer camps which cost $250 weekly and schools pay plenty to have their students attend performances at Proctors (teachers have been forced to spend their own money for tickets for chaperones to attend). Over $9 million in taxpayer money sunk into that Titanic mess. Please stop lying to me about how great Proctors is. One 'big' show a year is hardly a success.
I'll make you a bet DV, Maria in West Side Story that you'll be attending isn't even latino - it will be some blonde. I saw Carmen a few years back....worst show ever.
In his version of "Wes Side Story" Maria has dyed red hair and coke bottle glasses. Rehearsing is easy because neither of the aunties can hear anymore.
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."
The Gazetto says it is good and they are an infamous arts and farts publication-lol.
Educational experience at Proctor's? That happens at the box office every night. Highway robbery. Just leave your wallet on the way in. They will keep in the safe-for your safety. Plenty of unsavory "writers" lurking about.
It's so professionally run no one knows how much is in the safe or why they don't do cash count/night deposits. How are the sales for West Side? ROTFLMAO!!
Downtown is so vibrant and the tax supported non profits are enhancing the city so well.......that they find a dead man up the road. A county that has the highest taxes in the state. One of the highest vacancy rates. An imploding dss building.....BUT....there are 5,000 new jobs!! Gangs, crime, drug dealers and now squatters! Yup....it's vibrant alright.

I know people who went to see Spiderman in NYC .. and they said it sucked. I don't read reviews in the newspapers -- about movies, shows, restaurants or much else -- I listen to the opinions of those whom I know and trust ... or just go anyway.
This is true particularly of restaurants --- a number of restaurants that have been given stellar reviews by the Daily Gazette and/or Times-Union have been abysmally horrid IMHO .... I won't mention those restaurants by name.

ho hum.. yes the dead man is a symptom of all that is wrong in schenectady, and the dead man under the bridge in rotterdam is a symptom of all that is wrong in rotterdam.. good analogy... once again your razor sharp mind cuts thru the crap.
I don't know anyone who has gone to see the broadway version of spiderman. Personally, I can't imagine how they could create the same effects as the movie. It just wouldn't be the same. imho
