Police involved.

Heard a medical helicopter is headed there.

Oh yes, DVFOL (FOL = Full Of Lies), says crime is down, city is safe.  Here AGAIN, IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.

So we'll see if this is a cop shot someone, someone shot a cop, waiting to here.

Wonder why DV won't move into the city he claims is oh so good.

On channel 6 I thought it said a teen was involved and not sure if I heard right but not sure if he was armed.

Now Channel 13 is reporting this

A 16 year old with a gun....IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.....on a summer day when little children would be outside playiing.

Oh, but DVFOL claims the city is in a renaissance, it's safe in the city.

Yep, keep stealing from the homeowners and give their money to the millioniare political, dem cronies downtown.

It would be totally wrong to spend the taxpayers' money in the neighborhoods where the taxpayers live, right?   Isn't that right DV?   It would be wrong to spend money in the neighborhoods?????    Well DV?????   Is it wrong to spend money in the neighborhoods?    It's better to take the money out of the neighborhoods and give it to the dems and their millioniare cronies, and then give Morris two STAR exemptions?

So, a 30 year old guy was fatally shot by a cop

So, classic Schenectady....it's either a crazed cop goes wild OR a justified shooting becase of typical crime in Schenectady.   We'll see.   But YEP, Schenectady is wonderful, so says DVFOL

From gazette    Let's ask DV why cops from Scotia had to come in to do the routine patrol?    Where is the money for the Schenectady cops to be called in to do routine patrol?   Of course, the money was given to the millioniare buddies of STratton, McCarthy, Gillen and Savage.

Of course, because I have spoken the truth, DV will not respond.  He might poast, but he will NOT specifrically answer my question about where the taxpayers' money has gone, or why the taxpayers money is not being used on necessary services for the taxpayers and residents in the neighborhoods but rather the taxpayers money given to the politically connected rich.

SCHENECTADY — A man was reportedly shot dead by Schenectady police late this afternoon near State Street and Grove Place.

Relatives say Luis Rivera, 30, was shot dead by police. More than 14 total shots were reportedly fired, though it was not clear if the victim had shot at police. At least one shot ended up lodged in a house at the corner of Victory Street and Grove Place, according to police radio transmissions.

Police set up a command center at the corner of State Street and Grove Place and called in two Scotia police officers to help patrol while other officers investigated the shooting.

Those officers were needed almost immediately. About 40 minutes after the first reports of the shooting, a man called police to say he’d been stabbed behind Carver Community Center. Dispatch sent both Scotia officers, as well as a Schenectady officer.

The victim of the shooting was reportedly flown to Albany Medical Center, but the man's mother and brother said Rivera was dead.

Does Schenectady still have a Police Chief? All we see on scene is the Public Safety Commis. Has the "lifelong City resident" police chief moved back from Scotia-yet? Somebody check the milk cartons.

This is normal during the course of a renaissance. Uhhh, IT'S BUSH'S FAULT!

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

The Police Chief was on scene and at the other places he was required to be during an incident like that.  He was also at the press conference and answered a few questions, but, consistent with the theory of the chain of command - the ranking officer was the lead speaker.  And, there are many incidents at

Schenectady police kill armed man
Officials: 14 shots fired as man went for his gun

By Bryan Fitzgerald Staff writer
Updated 11:53 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2011

SCHENECTADY -- A 32-year-old man was shot and killed by police Friday afternoon when three officers opened fire on him after he tried to draw a handgun on them, authorities said.

Public Safety Commissioner Wayne Bennett said the officers fired a total of 14 shots at Luis R. Rivera just after 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of State Street and Grove Place.

Officers were called to the area at 4:24 p.m. for a report of a man with a handgun, Bennett said. Sgt. William Fennell arrived at the scene, less than a mile from the city police headquarters, and spotted Rivera with a handgun in his pocket.

Rivera began to flee after Fennell rushed out of his patrol car, Bennett said. Fennell grabbed Rivera by his shirt collar, but Rivera was able to shake loose.

Officers Kevin Raybal and Michael Wood then arrived at the scene. With his back toward the officers, Rivera lifted up his shirt and began to reach into the pocket for his 9mm semi-automatic pistol and turn toward police, Bennett said.

Rivera ignored repeated warnings to stop and officers opened fire, police said. Rivera was rushed to Ellis Hospital, where he died.

Bennett said he did not know how many bullets struck Rivera, which officers shot him, where he was hit, or if his gun was loaded.

Rivera has a long criminal history, Bennett said, including at least one conviction for illegal weapons possession. Rivera, who did not have a listed address and is believed to be originally from Albany, was most recently paroled in 2007.

Bennett said Rivera was robbed by two men Thursday night in the area where the shooting occurred. After a bystander reported the robbery and officers arrived at the scene, Rivera refused to cooperate with police, Bennett said.......................>>>>.....................>>>>..................Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Schenectady-police-kill-armed-man-1922650.php#ixzz1UuX6AQ5J

I doubt The deceased was originally from Albany. More likely, originally dumped in Albany from NYC.
This is the area my recent out-of-town visitor almost walked to, when I almost had a coronary. It can be measured in yards from the "small miracle" where they were staying in a hotel.
Any wonder that Mohawk Honda moved away?
It is a disgrace that police officials don't live here. We have to constantly question police actions here in Schenectady because of history. Anyone who gives public servants with that much power unquestioned allegiance is a fool. Bennett knows the second-guessing goes with the job, he's a big boy, it doesn't hurt him.
I think that other branches of government could do a better job doing something about some of these lowlifes. It all falls on the police, it seems, and they are really supposed to be kind of the last resort, not the only resort.

Salami is spot on when it comes to the city and how it does business. Some folks who post here, live the 'city experience' and are clearly victims to a very bad, corrupt and inept government. It is their voices that you will never read about  in the gazetto. And surely not heard on OSM. They are victims that are trying to be silenced by those 'connected'!!

MC1 is another fine example of exposing the 'real truth'!! And since these facts can not be denied........'those connected' will try to silence them by trying to shout louder, not giving them print or air time and trying to discredit them. But the truth still prevails.

It is the responsibility of every single citizen to question their government......and many are beginning to do a great job!!!

Salami and mc1....keep up the good work!!

Eyes are watching and reading!

Here's the new reality City property owners are sick of paying for the long "chain of command". No wonder our taxes are the highest in the region by $10 a thousand over the second highest taxed community! He answered a couple of questions and was quoted at the end of a long TU article? BFD! So did the Chief return to the City or not? The hypocrisy is laughable. Start worrying more about enforcing the City residency laws and less about your delusions about the First Amendment.
