Personal attacks should not be accepted as appropriate and in my mind they should never be tolerated. Mr. Macejka helped our family in the past and was helpful knowing that we were entiltled to fair treatment. There is no reason that he needs to be disrespected by the Republican party that is obstructionist in its goals to improve the political atmosphere in the town. To have those who are not supporting him in his desire to move the town forward only distracts from the positive view that people have of our town. People will be hurt by the political vendetta that some of the political leaders are undertaking against him and his family and that is not appropriate in any way, and everyone in town knows this.  The right people like Sheriff Buffardi and Legislator Santabarbara will insure that this nonsense ends on election day. GG

Geesh. From your last post on JM you did an about face. What is up with that Gert?  You have an axe to grind now after the Primary? Hmmmmmm

The transition team that is being set up has grand ideas to save the taxpayers in the long term. New ideas don't come to be without some hiccups along the way.

I am hoping our assessor will be taken care of but his support for the current and lame duck Supervisor and his long history of disruption among the party faithful has many of those who are most capable of running the town CORRECTLY questioning whether it was a good idea to remove Mr. Surprise, who all in all---despite the political arm-twisting of the Nattering Nitwits of Neanderthalism and the Mertz Gestapo---did not do a bad job.

With proper oversight and without political pressure- under the Reunite Rotterdam Team-- he may prove to be a better choice if the financial issues can be worked out to the benefit of the taxpayers.

I have the highest regard for Mr. Macejka and I am sure he will land on his feet...I would like to think of him as a friend and hopefully he will continue to work for the town in his capacity with professionalism until arrangements for a more permanent-- or even consolidated position can be arranged.

---The Working Together Team is determined to work with the county and Hon. Chair of the County Legislature Judith Dagostino to be creative and thoughtful in saving dollars and bolstering public safety with the savings. Any savings in that position will go toward a more robust public safety program and a facility for First Responders to meet the needs of the 21st century.

There is a between the lines drip to your edge Gert.   Move on.  Macejka is there until 2013.  What are you the capo de tutti? .   You know what you did and want Macejka silenced.   Think Angle is the only one with a hidden mic.

does the assessor change the tax levy
does the assessor change the rate
does the assessor change the equalization

what does the assessor do?

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The Assessor protects his paycheck and makes himself look like something he?she is not
Most of all It acts like any other government lacky who cant work in the private sector ,which is becoming less private by the day.

Since you don;'t know what an assessor does you likely shouldn't be commenting on the subject...
