Firefighters battle a house fire at 2990 Mariaville Road near Gordon Road in Rotterdam early Thursday morning. Five fire companies brought the fire under control after several hours, but Schenectady County Fire Coordinator John Nuzbeck said house was destroyed. An investigation into its cause is under way. No one was home at the time.
