Has anyone (Pat?) done a detailed and extensive analysis of all the public funding this schmuck has gotten?

Actually I do have a lot of information. Mr. Morris earns over $200K per year in salary. Expenses/benefits are another story.

What bothers me the most is the old "Carl Company" building, a taxable building is assessed at $100. Yes you read that right, One Hundred Dollars. Also the building that was built to house the Proctor's Power Company is assessed at $100.

It stinks more than anything. Proctor's does not pay any PILOT, they are paying something back to Metroplex for the money that was loaned to them. Their upgrades are very close to $25 Million since Mr. Morris took over. They have also received federal funding (polution points they cashed in for less than what they were worth) so it calls into question whether Leesa Perazzo can run for city council. Has she been cleared for the Hatch Act? That applies to so-called "not-for-profit" entities that receive federal funding too.

Mr. Morris' blog is not really anything more than a blowhard blowing. He doesn't describe upcoming shows or tells anything about what is available. Not only that but now he is working in Albany using Schenectady taxpayer money. I wouldn't give him much credence.

Speaking of the Carl Company, I never understood why people were so happy to see Proctor's take that over. Did we decide that retail would never again be a part of downtown? When Boscov's announced a while back they were looking for another site, I couldn't help thinking it was too bad we couldn't have it in downtown Schenectady. Of course, they wouldn't want to put a store where various addicts and parolees might hang out, but still. What is a "downtown" meant to be? Why is it so important to pour money into it when it offers nothing to city residents?
Maybe it needed sprucing up to make it more tolerable for connected out-of-towners to be here for the amount of time necessary to pick up their paychecks.

Carl Company was one outrage but Key Bank/Hall is another. That was purchased by Mercury Morris for ONLY $150,000 in a closed one bid arranged Death Ray. The County tourism bookshelf has moved from the Museum to Proctor's for $45,000. Another $300,000 from the oppressed County sheeple for Proctor's to publicize Arts Night.

More DEMS working together to screw the County Taxpayers. Of course Leeza! has her only fund raiser at Key Hall which should lose its nonprofit status. Now allegations that Leeza! is receiving Federal Funds for her job and should be thrown off the ballot.

I haven't posted here in a while.
This was posted in response to the Morris -who can I bill TU blog by a friend of mine. It is my understanding that it was posted yesterday but wasn't put up.

Mr. Morris should keep things in perspective. As the CEO of Proctors, his not for profit business is the recipient of MANY financial benefits from the NY and Schenectady County taxpayers. With whole property tax exemptions on 7 City buildings, $4.6 million in federal tax credits, $9.5 million from Metroplex, $200K in NYS grants, and $1.4 million in in direct County funding, you begin to realize Mr. Morris’ livelihood($194K per year) is due to the generosity of the taxpayer. And this is extremely generous, since the Schenectady County taxpayer’s average per capita income in 2009 was $27,308.(He didn’t do to bad did he?)

So if Mr. Morris is looking for somebody to bill, he should begin with himself. It is people like Morris, who built his business off of the backs of the county taxpayer, while he doesn’t pay a dime of property tax on his businesses. That is why Americans sent these Tea Party conservatives to Washington. People have become tired to working 50 hours a week, just to squeak a modest living, while our property taxes are going up to pay the exorbitant salaries of bureaucrats and the likes of Morris.

I have some news for Mr. Morris, everyday Americans also lost money in the stock market. But what makes them worse off than Mr. Morris, they have to pay taxes on their properties that continue to go up.

So, I have some financial advice for Morris. Diversify your retirement portfolio and take some of the money you plundered from the City of Schenectady and County, through exemptions and direct funding, and invest it back into those crumbling neighborhoods that are ultimately paying for the municipal services that Proctors and the “miracle mile” benefit from. If Mr. Morris truly believes in the Schenectady Renaissance, then investing in Schenectady should be a guaranteed winner.

The real question is – who does the Schenectady resident bill for their financial losses as their property taxes increase and their home values decrease? Maybe Mr. Morris and Proctors is where we can begin to look.

I will be pleasantly surprised to see if this 'comment' sees the light of day on Morris' blog.

Beautiful analysis that will never see the light of day on Morris' idiot blog. He has made it clear that he censors any negative comments. The 2 he let through are bad but civil. Probable hundreds more that are barking mad at this political pig.

How dare he blame tea party patriots for the debt extension that Obama caused? This is right out of Rules of Radicals attack tea party as a distraction for your own failure to budget . Proctor's needs to get off the taxpayer's back and must pay taxes for Key Bank/Hall and the Arcade. As far as Leeza! the sooner she is hatched-the better. The last thing that pathetic City Council needs is another DEM stooge.

No Mr. Morris—you are just talking trash politics. Everyone involved in the private and government sectors should share equally in the finance problems that we all created. This country must stop the political trash talking and start making their representatives listen to them—we cannot spend more than we make. If they fail to listen—VOTE THEM OUT !!

How about Obama who voted no when he was a Senator to a debt increase due to bad leadership, and what happened to the promise of bringing the troops home 18 months after he was elected. You don’t even know what the Tea Party stands for, what the Constitution is about, Billions of dollars are going overseas for wars we should not be in and stimulus given to greedy businesses that DO not increase jobs.

You allready are billing the Sch’dy property owners what the heck else do you want? Blood?

Ask him when he is going to thank the taxpayers of schenectady county in the Procto's program or handbill for the millions they have forked over to his outfit?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

That's a laugh. But Judy DAG and Metrograft Ray already have full page ads. That the County taxpayers paid for. The entire operation down there needs to be audited by the State Comptroller and FBI. Let the chips fall where they may.

Whomever is the author of that comment should complain because I believe that it is against his terms of use for
Morris to censor comments.

Comments can't contain profanity or personal attacks and I see neither in that comment.

Complain to the TU.

I believe you are correct. However, Morris could and would never put that comment up UNLESS he had a good come back. The analysis is spot on and was non threatening. However, it would be interesting to know if the tu knows he 'censors' his comments. hmmmmmmmmm

And this post too.

Morris/proctors cheerleader strangely silent

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.
