Get Outside and See a Movie in Schenectady County! Schenectady County Announces Return of Family Movie Nights
(SCHENECTADY, NY) Judy Dagostino, Chairwoman of the Schenectady County Legislature, is proud to announce the return of Schenectady County Family Movie Nights. These FREE family entertainment events will be brought to communities around Schenectady County in August. The fun starts each night at 7:00pm with entertainment and activities by Radio Disney and the Scotia Glenville Children’s Traveling Museum, followed by outdoor screenings of Shrek Forever After (August 10, 18, and 23) or Despicable Me (August 2 and 16).
“Schenectady County is excited to host another year of Family Movie Nights,” said Chair Dagostino. “Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and visit some of the great parks around our County for a unique night of entertainment.”
The series kicks off August 2 at Schenectady’s Vale Park followed by August 10 at Niskayuna Town Hall, August 16 at Esposito Park in Rotterdam, August 18 at Shafer Memorial Park in Duanesburg, and August 23 at Freedom Park in Scotia.
Family Movie Nights will feature pre-movie entertainment by Radio Disney. Games, music, and prize giveaways are all part of the fun! Kids and parents can also enjoy hands-on crafts and activities presented by the Scotia Glenville Children’s Traveling Museum.
New this year: Schenectady County Family Movie Night will host the 518moms bloggers for a meet and greet on August 23rd. Come down to meet your favorite 518moms bloggers and enter to win great prizes!

They can show movies but can't maintain the parks where they show them. Makes sense as much as the guy who can't afford to fix the hole in the roof but has a new Mercedes (on credit.) THIS is democrapic brilliance at its grandest. Makes perfect sense to offer bread and circuses to the kind of fools who need to go to a park and get bitten by mosquitoes at dusk to glom a free movie at taxpayer expense. So what if are drowning in red ink!

I wonder when the first time any of these DEM morons went into Vale Park? This is all about keeping some useless DEM lobs fully employed. They are providing free movies and circuses so what if County taxes are 4X Saratoga County and Cousin Vinny fled? If 2 people show up it won't be for the old movie. All this crap needs to end but Judy DAG keeps the entire charade started by SS Savage going to trick the sheeple.

Not only that, but it will keep the City employees busy as they're not cleaning Central Park anymore. The City didn't cut ANY employees this year, didn't lay off any City employees so where are all the City workers.....ah maybe that Taj Mahal of a City Garage is air conditioned a little too well.

Our property taxes represent the county portion as "State and Federal Mandates". Am I then to believe that the movie nights are mandated by state and/or federal government?
Not only that, but it will keep the City employees busy as they're not cleaning Central Park anymore. I'm sure the City workers who will be cleaning up Vale Park for this movie have never even stepped foot there before. Mostly volunteers have taken that role.

If you live in the Stockade you know who to call-Ghostbusters! Central Park's trash and litter explosion is dealt with by Tim Conway who bribes the involuntary workers with pizza and warm soda.
Speaking of County waste {which should a stuck thread with these DEM morons} let's talk about the Gillette House. Over one million taxpayer dollars went poof and they can't even open a bagel shop. Even the steps are a mess. What happened? What County idiot oversaw the "renovations"? Where is the Gazetto or Times Union on this latest scandal? Calling the county tax "State and Federal Mandates" was a HUGE LIE that CHRIS GARDNER, SUSAN SAVAGE, LADY GAGASTINO and the rest of the liars there decided to tell to the taxpayers by printing it on their bill, just like the county nursing home is a "mandate."

Well, where are the cheerleaders for increasing taxes on the homeonwers. Does DV aka SB favor spending tax dollar for free movies when homeonwers can't afford their taxes? Would Jesus approve of putting homeowners at risk of losing their homes by hiking their taxes and then using the money for for movies? Would Jesus approve putting people at risk of being unable to pay for medicine just to waste that money on movie nights around town?
