Not only Central Park have any of you seen Woodlawn Park    I brought my kids there when they were little, haven't been there in years. Went about  a week ago it was like something out of a horror movie. Literally.

Yeah no kidding that place is creepy If Freddy from Nightmare on Elm St. had a playground that would be it. I ask everyone here to go take a look at that place and tell me the hairs on your neck doesn't stand up, even in the daytime I wouldn't go there alone

I took the kids there back in June and there was garbage all over the playground.  The equipment is old and rusty.  One little boy was picking up broken glass to show his mommy "the pretty jewels".  The picnic area was gross.  There was even a used condom behind one of the playground things.  One of the picnic tables near the road had maggots on it.  Seriously?  Why would they let children play here?  I didnt go into the bathrooms.  I thought that if the grounds were this bad, what was it like in there.  I packed the kids up and left.

It's a real shame that people don't take better care of parks. While it's the goverments job to clean them up, it really upsets me that people don't have the common sense or decency to pick up after themselves.

True. You'd think they would throw their condom in the garbage after a night of wild sex!!

Well it could of been left there by DV and his "partner." After all, he is a huge fan of consolidating the city and the towns so we can benefit from all the great things the city has to offer. So he may be visiting the park with his palm to share a romantic moment. His "doggie style" park hasn't been rammed down the taxpayers' throats (ahemm) yet but when Hairdo Buffonti gets elected I am sure we the taxpayers will get the full bone, while the dogs get the treats.

What's wrong with you people? Don't you realize that DEM Woodlawn "leader" Sidewalk Bob is in charge of Woodlawn Park? He says that everything is great over there. Then he goes in front of City Council and makes a total fool of himself complaining about his property taxes that the DEM moron candidates voted to increase.

Under the all DEM implosion the entire City is falling apart. Not a non-DEM in any elected office. Parks are only one part of the collapse. Driving to the parks is another problem. Keeping the pools open when Proctor's refuses to pay any of Stratton's Fair Share Tax is another problem. Keeping voting DEM, the Proctor's stooge, and King Brucker then we can have the highest taxes in the Nation!

Normally I would agree that a city in dire financial straits would have to let the parks "go", but I frankly do not believe there aren't enough employees on the payroll RIGHT NOW that the upkeep could not be done. Two other threads, the sales tax one and the Scotia police one, relate directly to this. It isn't the lack of funds, it is the conscious decision by some not to do their jobs any more or oversee others who aren't doing their jobs either. That isn't glamorous enough. That, and the deliberate manipulation of the system for the benefit of the connected. Would you rather your taxes go to non-residents so they can live high on the hog, or for the basic upkeep of some parks that are for everyone's benefit?
Now that our dishonest mayor has been rewarded for his lack of integrity and competence we have a slight chance to return our city government to what it is intended to do, run the city for the benefit of the residents who pay for it. Even the boring stuff. Streets, traffic lights, garbage, parks maintenance. We pay for it. The politicians have been getting away with crying poverty at budget time and at the same time throwing around huge sums of money to the connected and bragging about all the money they are taking in. The news outlets reinforce this. They constantly refer to the city as "cash strapped". This is not true.

Everything is being let go. The DEM mismanagement in City Hall is unbelievable. The residency laws are flaunted so that every DEM hack in the area can go on the City payroll. Entire departments have become dumping grounds.

There are more than enough employees, especially with Lumpy Kosiur's summer hires, to clean all the parks. Another reason why creation of a new park at ALCO and a stunad pocket park is idiotic. Try and maintain the current park system. Mayor Lund would be turning over in his grave if he saw how pathetic the current DEM party has become. "Hooray for me-screw you-I'm getting out of this County as soon as I can" is the current DEM mantra.
