Did anyone see where Schenectady got "Best Political Cesspool (West)" in the Metroland "Best of the Capital Region 2011" survey? Troy got the "East" title.
Other people are finally starting to notice.

Wonder what took so long to notice

I wonder if they were planning on naming an overall winner/loser between the two.  It's like knowing who the Champion is of the American and National Leagues with no World Series, or the NFC and AFC champions, with no Super Bowl.

Best Political Cesspool (East)

Troy

Troy topped even its own outrageous record of voter fraud this year. The city government tangled in an embarrassing web of infighting and petty partisan shenanigans, and the City Hall debacle is a remarkable emblem for bureaucratic inefficiency.

Best Political Cesspool (West)

Schenectady

In Schenectady, it’s deemed perfectly normal for the head of the city council to assume the mayor’s duties when the sitting mayor resigns. Then, there’s the Machiavellian way ex-Union College prez Roger Hull is positioning himself for mayor. Then, there’s the fact that a large block of the city’s population is not adequately represented in city government. It ain’t Troy, but it’s a long way from paradise.

I guess this means that again, Schenectady is just a second place city.

Another race to the bottom like with the Albany schools. Under the DEM working together morons Schenectady County government is the cesspool of Upstate NY. Metroland gets all in a lather about Upper Union Street lacking City representation. How about 2 towns Duanesburg and Princeton that have no County voice?
