Someone at the asylum should take away the computer privileges of the Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity.

Your usual comment......mis-use of the taxpayers money combined with crime in the city must be kept a secret, sweep it all under the rug, don't  tell anyone, right DV?    Just like your socialist mayor BS Stratton and his colleagues tried to keep a big fat raise a big huge secret?

Optimists close their eyes and pretend problems are non existent.
Better to have open eyes, see the truths, acknowledge the negatives, and
speak up for the people rather than the politicos and their rich cronies.

Did anyone at Proctor's figure out whether or not they were robbed yet? I haven't heard.

They are still trying to figure out what was in the safe. 10,000 unsold tickets to Hair and Morris' unused dry cleaning receipts. We need more Proctor's stooges in elective office-lol.

Ya never hear of how many times proctors is vandalized either. Or how many times they have to clean piss and human defication from the sidewalks in front and in back of proctors.

Ya think yer gonna hear about who burglarized the place? It is a matter of poor business practices. Ya don't keep that kind of $$$ overnight in a business. EVERY SMART BUSINESS PERSON KNOWS THAT!!! Especially in the city! Then to add insult to injury....nobody knows how much money was even taken!!

Wonder who is doing the investigative reporting on this one? Call Greg Floyd!!

Schenectady police probe office burglary at Proctors
Updated 10:21 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2011

It has been 16 days since this robbery.  Where is the follow-up on this story?  Proctors is on of the largest recipients of Schenectady County taxpayer money and tax breaks and the newspapers aren't following?  This is the Democrats crown jewel of downtown, or “the miracle mile” No suspects named, no dollar amount stolen?  It seems like there’s a blackout on this.

I'll tell you my hunch, if you find that Bombers shotgun shooter, good chances are, you'll find the Proctors Theater robber.

All we really have, according to the story, is a hole kicked in a wall. Maybe someone connected to the place is the type who gets bad-tempered and kicks holes in things after a few too many. The reported burglary could just be a cover up.

Raise the rug and sweep. Like Cornell's, like Bomber's shot gun attack. The story does not add up like many in the Gazetto. Who besides employees knew about the safe? How much was in the safe? Why does Proctor's keep unknown amounts in a safe? Why doesn't proctor's use a night depository like many private businesses? Does Morris have a missing amount-YET? Many questions-no answers from the working together stooges.

I agree with you about the "blackout", but not about your hunch, because Proctors' version of the event just sounds so implausible.

1. They didn't know how much was in the safe. Never ever have I heard of a business that didn't require their cashiers to count their drawer at the end of their shift, and in many cases they are required to make frequent 'drops' during their shift, and document them.
It's a 'shrinkage' thing, as well as a safety issue, so that you never have enough money in your drawer to make it worth robbing.
When you're charging $65 a ticket, you kind of want to keep track of that stuff.
In fact, they utilize a bit of box office software (it's been around for a long time) that keeps track of it all, who's utility is not only accounting, but to avoid (especially when there are 40 performances of that show) selling two of the same ticket.
If you just dropped $300 to take your family to a show, you don't want some stinky hobo sitting on your lap.

2. You can get through a SAFE, but not a door?
Kick a door once, and it's done.
Does anybody know how long it takes to kick a hole big enough (even with sheet rock, no less plaster and lath) that you can walk through?
If you've ever done any remodeling work, you'll know it's very noisy, and takes some time.

3. Most likely the Bomber's shotgun guy, was either a vengeful drunk, a drug dealer, a gang banger, or all three.

Tommy,

I was being sarcastic about the link between the Bombers shooter and the Proctors burglar.  Sometimes I forget that sarcasm doesn't come across the same when in writing.

Sorry, It's been a hard day, and I think my sarcasm meter is on the fritz.
Please accept My apologies.
I still have to agree with you about the whole "blackout" thing though.

Acting Mayor McCarthy should put on his Sherlock Holmes hat, grab his pipe and solve this case. After all he is an experienced County investigator. City Residency law? What residency laws? We don't need no stinkin residency laws in Schenectady. Working together headquarters!

Since proctors gets its lion share of its money from the taxpayers, this information should be made public. After all...proctors is now 'the people's (taxpayer's) house! Without the flood of taxpayer's money...proctors just could cease to exist!!!

WHO STOLE THE MONEY AND HOW MUCH WAS STOLEN???? Simple question.....no?

It's a simple question in the private sector where they have actual cash counts, closing procedures and night deposits. In Proctor's, where nobody knows from nuthin-it's a bit murkier. They don't even have a clue how much was in the safe-if anything.

How dare the County taxpayers demand accountability from a nonprofit that has taken millions and refuses to pay anything towards a Stratton fair share profit? Here's the funniest part the DEM working together team actually wants to put a Proctor's employee on the City Council! She can bring this "expertise" to City Hall?
