So if the jury found her guilty, they could accept trips to Disney and sell their story without being tarred and feathered by the media?  The verdict isn't what made the jurors famous; it was the high profile of the case.

Our legal system doesn't work because of the openness of our courtrooms allowing media access, which allows vaudevillians like Grace to convict a person publicly before a verdict is reached by the "stupid" jurors.  All done for rating I remind you.(but that's ok)  The fact that Casey can't walk around without fearing for her life, all because she was found guilty by the likes of Nancy Grace is a shame.

Even though there are imperfections of our system, and sometime the guilty may walk free, it doesn't mean we should embrace media agitators like Grace to continue pushing this lynch mob justice.

No, serving on a jury is a public service, you should not be rewarded regardless of verdict.
I also think you grossly over-estimate the impact of Nancy Grace. First, she is on a cable news channel, which doesn't have great ratings to begin with. Second, the jurors were sequestered so Grace should have had NO EFFECT on their verdict. As far as Casey, even the one juror that came forward said "she did not say Casey was innocent, but was not guilty because of lack of evidence" Whether she said that just to cover her azz or not doesn't matter to me. The fact remains that Casey is piece of trash that steals and writes bad checks, slanders truly innocent people, and AT THE VERY LEAST, let well meaning people search for her daughter when she already knew she was dead. Whatever public scorn she gets, is well deserved. I hope it lasts for the rest of her miserable life.

If that makes you feel good.  I hope you are never on the wrong side of the legal system, and the national media doesn't turn their sights on you or your family to destroy you well before a piece of evidence is submitted.

BTW...Nancy Grace received her best ratings ever, the show was the highest on cable at the 8pm time slot on the day of the verdict.

The fact that Grace received her best ratings AFTER the trial just confirms my belief that her effect was grossly overrated. The Anthony's did it to themselves by their ridiculous behavior. It seems you want to absolve everyone and blame it on the media

The Anthonys actions - caused by the media
The jurors taking gifts for interviews and demanding five figure fees for them through their publicists - blame it on the media.

You're not alone though. Just another product of a Society that refuses to take responsibility for their own actions or hold other people responsible for theirs.

You're not alone either.  You are just a product of a society that believes a murder trial is just another reality TV Show like Survivor.  You're just another arm chair lawyer who feels their online research and cable news viewing gives you GREATER UNDERSTANDING and ability to make a judgment on a MURDER 1 charge, better than the 12 sitting in the room.  Because of course there is NO WAY your judgment was persuaded by the opinions of those in the media presenting the information.

She's already talking about another child-including adoption! Great job jury! You are a shinning example of our legal system at "work". Now they can go to Disney World on the media's dime. Another juror, a chef, is lining up interviews at $10,000 a pop. Get it while it's hot! Everyone's trying to understand the reasoning of this jury and finding out there wasn't any. They ignored a mountain of State's evidence including DNA from her trunk.

Blame the prosecutor for over charging {this was a classic first degree murder}. Blame Nancy Grace. Blame the great Judge. All the blame falls only this pathetic jury that failed in it's basic duties. Listen to the evidence, take notes, ask for the law and witness statements, thoughtfully deliberate, to make sure that a murderer doesn't walk free to murder again.

You're funny... First you blame Grace and her ilk for poisoning the jurors and when I show you she couldn't have possibly done that, you say she effected me. That's also strange, because the first time I watched Grace in several months was Tuesday night when she had her high ratings. I was tuning in to see if her head would pop off more than anything else. The jurors aren't too smart and are re-enforcing that every day. Another alternate spoke out this morning and actually admitted that Baez's accusation of sexual abuse, for which he provided no witnesses or evidence, played a part in their minds. I repeat my assertion that this jury was incredibly lazy and wanted to get out of dodge ASAP. Minimal, if any note taking, and after six weeks of witnesses and evidence, not a SINGLE read back...yeah, that sounds conscientious to me

What America should do is to scrap the 12 juror system and hold America Idol style trials.  We can have Ryan Seacrest host or "trial reporter", and a judging panel of 3.   It would be made up of, one former prosecutor, one former defense attorney, and one former judge.  Each night they can give America their “professional” opinions on the case.  It can be broadcast nationwide at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Then, when the trial is over, the viewers can call in and vote by pressing '1' for guilty - '2' for not guilty - '3' for innocent.  It would be a much more just and fair way to do it.  We can’t leave this up to 12 "stupid" jurors anymore.

The average deliberation period for a capital murder trial in the state of Florida is 5 DAYS, not 5 HOURS X2
Some have gone on as long as 11 days. With this amount of conflicting evidence, 10 hours was a joke, a lazy joke.

No, just causing people like you to actually believe your judgments are more informed because you watch cable news or read internet news.  They are encouraging people sitting behind a computer or watching TV think they are more informed than those sitting in the courthouse every day.  They are causing stupid people that play armchair quarterback to become delusional about their own intelligence.

The ignorance of the jury isn’t what is frightening; it’s the ignorance of the American casual observer of the trial that actually thinks they are more intelligent and more informed than the 12 people they never met that sat in the court room.

That BS may have sprouted wings before the days of cameras in the courtroom, but not today. Most, if not all of this trial was viewable via television.

Talking about ignoring something, how about you ignoring my previous post. How can the jury honestly say they deliberated six weeks of testimony in 10 hours without a single read back? They're either Einsteins or lazy, and based on what I have listened to from them so far, Einstein can rest easy.

I never blamed Grace for poisoning the jurors.  Though I'm sure it didn't make it easy for the prosecution or defense to find an impartial jury with all the publicity the case received before it went to trial.

I blamed them for destroying the defendant’s character and reputation in the court of public opinion without a shred of evidence.  I blame them for the lynch mob justice she spews on her nationally televised show.  I blame her for the death threats the Anthony family received after the verdict handed out by our legal system.  I blame her for the idiots standing outside of the courthouse wanting to put the jurors on trail because the outcome wasn't what Nancy Grace told them the outcome should have been.

This is a lesson learned to all of the future potential jurors..............follow the 'pre-verdict' in the 'court of public opinion' when you cast your vote!! Otherwise your life may be in danger and  your life will be forever ruined!

PATHETIC!!

Blame the perpetrators, not the messenger. Again, people have to be responsible for what they do.
I have to wonder if the Son of Sam would have ever been convicted today, after all, he got his instructions to kill from a dog... can't be his fault. Nazi guards were executed and sentenced to prison for following orders... again, you have to wonder what the effect of the "its not my fault" society would have had on that.

And character and reputation for Casey? LOL stealing and writing bad checks, accusing truly innocent people of kidnapping, 31 days of forgetting she was a mother before HER mother reported Caylee missing? She made her own bed.
