Facts Do Matter…The Economy Does Better Under Democrats

Many of the things you give the Dems credit for were the result of policies put in place by Repub administrations.
YOU MEAN, IT'S BUSH'S FAULT!!! So funny Shadow! Good things that happen to Democrats are the fault of the Republicans... yet the disaster left to Obama... well you know... you've posted it enough... IT'S ALL BUSH'S FAULT!!!

The increase in oil production has nothing to do with the Dem administration, it was Bush who allowed the drilling for oil and natural gas and Obama is trying to take credit for the increase in oil production.

Filed under: General Motors (GM) President Obama has ordered the United States government to speed up its stimulus-inspired plan to purchase 17,600 new American-made cars by June 1st. The purchases are designed "to increase demand for American auto companies during these difficult economic times," according to the White House.
It's actually unbelievable: The United States government lends an enormous sum of money to General Motors Corporation (NYSE: GM) and Chrysler but insists that they meet certain targets to demonstrate viability. Then the government buys a bunch of cars to help them meet those targets: Can someone please tell me what exactly Bernie Madoff did that was so bad?
The Democratic National Convention on Wednesday featured three speakers billed as “former employees of companies controlled by Bain Capital.”
They each told compelling stories about jobs lost, allegedly because of the actions of Bain under Romney’s leadership. But it turns out one of those employees never actually worked for a company controlled by Bain Capital. David Foster was supposedly one of those former employees on the convention schedule. He told the story about 750 steelworkers who lost their jobs when the Bain-controlled company GST steel filed for bankruptcy in the early 1990s.
“In 2001, with GST bankrupt and Romney still CEO of Bain, I stood in front of hundreds of steelworkers in their 50s and 60s, and retirees in their 70s and 80s, and told them Romney and Bain had broken their promises. Jobs, vacation pay, severance, health insurance and pension benefits that were promised — they were all gone,” he said. Read his full speech here
"After they bought GST Steel, "Mitt Romney and his partners loaded it with debt, closed the Kansas City plant and walked away with a healthy profit, leaving hundreds of employees out of work with their pensions in jeopardy."
Politifact rates this story as Mostly True.

We found, through corporate filings, interviews and investigations by other news organizations, that the statement is accurate but needs some clarification. It’s true that Bain added significantly to GST’s debt load while paying dividends to itself. The plant’s closure, however, happened after Romney had left daily operations at Bain, though he led Bain during six years of its majority investment in the plant.
The statement’s last two claims are solid: Bain (and Romney) made a profit from taking over GST, and the employees lost many benefits their union had negotiated, including supplemental pension payments. The federal government had to step in to shore up the fund.
We rate the claim Mostly True.

Obama also made several campaign promises during the 2008 speech that remain unfulfilled.
He said: "In ten years, we will finally end our dependence on oil from the Middle East." In fact, Persian Gulf oil imports increased in each of the last three years.
He said: "Change means a tax code that doesn't reward the lobbyists who wrote it." NASCAR, the tuna industry and Wall Street lobbyists continue to win tax breaks.
He said: "Many of these plans will cost money, which is why I've laid out how I'll pay for every dime." The president's most recent budget projects a $1.3 trillion deficit.
He said: "I will also renew the tough, direct diplomacy that can prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons." Inspectors say Iran is closer to producing nuclear fuel than ever before.

"They didn't begrudge anyone else's success or care that others had much more than they did... in fact, they admired it." and "And he believes that when you've worked hard, and done well, and walked through that doorway of opportunity…you do not slam it shut behind you…you reach back, and you give other folks the same chances that helped you succeed."

Republican speedbumps every day of his Presidency. They stated openly they are only interested in getting him out of office. Nothing else matters.
He said: "Many of these plans will cost money, which is why I've laid out how I'll pay for every dime." The president's most recent budget projects a $1.3 trillion deficit.
He has laid out plans to increase revenues. The Republicans went apeshit and challenge every move.

Obama has been using diplomacy. McCain would already have invaded in a hunt for WMDs.
Obama seeks to get increased revenue from those who can afford it.
Romney seeks to give tax breaks to those who don't need it.
