I look forward to seeing how many posts Mr. Morris allows in response to his latest blog entry.

The TU has a pretty strict comments policy I believe.  That unless it is insulting (I forget the exact terminology), it has to be posted unedited.  (Although it is possible that just applies to their featured blogs, not all of them?)

A month along Mercury Morris announced that will not print ANY critical comments on his inane TU blog. Now we have the Fuhrer of Proctor's censoring the huge number of negative comments. Coming Next To Proctor's-censoring bad theater reviews!

As usual DVR misses the point. Would your church host a political fund raiser? Would a temple or mosque? Hell-NO! Because they would all lose their IRS tax exempt status. But Mercury Morris/Proctor's has a fund raiser for Leesa who is a Proctor's employee at tax exempt KEY HALL. BTW, it's not bad enough to have 7 Proctor's stooges on City Council. Now we must elect a DEM Proctor's employee? What is her stand on Proctor's finally paying a Fair Share Tax? LOL! A new low from Proctor's/Key Hall/OSM/City DEMS.

But it's OK for an alleged "educational" tax exempt non profit to host a DEM fund raiser for Leesa? No biggie-she's a DEM. Wrong. wrong, wrong. Pass the canopies and the envelopes!

Yeah, not from the profits of a business as is proper, but TAXPAYERS' money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Taxpayers money is supposed be used for necessary things, necessary services like police, fire, streets and sewers, NOT to pay someone a big fat salary so he can avoid paying the high taxes in the city himself!

Proctor's is one of the great gems not just of the city or the county --- but in all of upstate New York.   Let's keep supporting such a fine venue for Arts and Cultural events BOTH through purchasing tickets and providing it with necessary grants.

The Nattering Nayboobs of Negativity oppose support of the Arts and Cultural Events because they take after their mentor and icon --  a certain mustached man who served as Chancellor of German ... who  tried to exterminate the Intelligentsia and the Artists.   They won't be happy until everyone is wearing brown shirts and goose-stepping down State Street.

DV. yes, support it, but ONLY BY THE PRIVATE PERSON choice of theater goers who have the money to spend.

What is happening is that financially struggling homeowners, barely able to pay their own taxes, are FORCED to pay for the theater, through their income taxes, their property taxes, sales taxes, etc (and IF they CHOOSE to buy outside of the county, they are STILL FORCED to pay the sales tax to the county.

Let those who want to spend the money support it.

DV. Protors, the arts, and cultural events is NOT going to save a homeowner from losing their home to tax seizure, nor will it fix the streets and sewers, cultural events do not pay for the hill to have police portection.   Proctors, the arts and cultural events is NOT going to put food on the table of lower income people or pay their bills.

That's what the problem is....you spew all that sh*t that says to support Proctors and stuff, but you CONSISTENTLY ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to explain HOW taxpayers are supposed to feed themselves or pay for their medication or heat when they are FORCED to fork over more money for Proc6tors and all these NON-ESSENTIAL events.

and providing it with necessary grants.

.

Grants are TAXPAYERS' money.    You are obvioiusly too dense to know that the state and the federal governments are each in desparate financial condition.  The state will be laying off employees which mean thinks like putting dangerous criminals and juveniles out in the communities, more bridges will fall with people being killed, what happens when there is some poliuted place and the state has no money to clean it because it gave money to Proctors so the rich people can drop $100 to see a show????    Huh?

DV, look at the federal, this dem president wants to increase the deb to a almost $15 trillion!   STOP giving out these grants that YOU use the adjective "necessary" above.  These grants are NOT necesary.   What IS necessary is to make sure there is money to pay for things like social security and medicare for all those who paid into it and worked all their lives, to clean up after natural disasters, to fix bridges so they don't fall.

See, DV, these who you call "naybobs" are people that really are the intelligent people here -- we are the ones that know that human lives, paying for medical, food, shelter, adn heat is what is NECESSARY in life.   Grants for artsy stuff is NOT necessity.

Guess you would prefer to see a homeowner go homeless as long as money is given to Proctors.

DVR is too dense to realize that grants actually come from the taxpayers. If Proctor's is getting another schmear-the police and fire departments are doing with less. Finally the residents are waking up to the fact that Morris is a total fraud, that refuses to repay anything and that he won't even pay his fair share for schools nor City pools for the kids! His idiotic responses about "education" are hilarious when our school districts have to pay full pop for his productions.

It's absolutely disgusting what has been going on and how the DEM morons support this rape of the County taxpayers because it's for the "arts". Tonight another new low with a tax exempt "hall" being used for DEM political gain. Exactly what happened November 2008 when Proctor's was turned into a Obama victory party. Funny how the theater was not open for 2010 election results. The absolute contempt for the taxpayers and for honest political debate is crystal clear. One Morris, One Party, One rip off.

Another nonsense response.

DV, can you tell us why you avoid engaging in intelligent discussion?   YOU are the once who stated "necessary" grants.   But you know that grants come from the government via the taxpayers.

The word necessity means something we need, something we cannot exist without.   So tell us WHY it is necesary.   Explain to us what would happen if we did not have Proctors.   Would people die?   Would peoples cars get damaged if there was no Proctors?   Would people go without meals if there was no Proctors?    Would the city have to eliminate police if there was no Proctors?

WHY is Proctors a NECESSITY????

He would prefer to see Downtown empty as long as Proctor's keeps ripping off the taxpayers. And now the latest outrage-hosting a DEM fund raiser for an unqualified Proctor's lob for City Council. They should lose their tax exemptions.

Downtown was EMPTY when the GOP held the Mayor's Office and controlled the County Leg.

As for intelligent conversations -- MC, Metz, Surhada, Tomaselli, Rheinsmith and the other hacks who post here are not capable of an intelligent conversation ...   and quite frankly .. you folks bore the hell out of me.

And it's empty now but sales taxes doubled!  Take another look at State below Erie. I know, the City DEM morons are improving the park by the bus station. Death Ray said that would spark "renaissance"-lol. Maybe Death Ray can build on Gillen's Gulch? Keep reaching back to the 70's when the REP controlled City Hall. You want a renaissance? Throw out every DEM running for City/town or County office.
