I am an anti-gun nut. Proud of it. NOBODY has forgotten the young man killed in BAlbany. I KNEW that child. You would have to live here o know all that is being done because of that murder.

SCHENECTADY Host charged in shooting aftermath Police: Woman wielded knife at party where 15-year-old was killed BY STEVEN COOK Gazette Reporter
The alleged host of the early Sunday morning party where 15-year-old Eddie Stanley was shot and killed has been arrested, accused of slashing at party-goers with a knife in the shooting’s aftermath, authorities said. Anasia Nesbit, 19, of 730 Bridge St., appeared in Schenectady City Court Wednesday on one count of second-degree assault, a felony. Nesbit is accused of using a knife to strike someone several times just before 2 a.m. Sunday, according to papers filed in court. Schenectady County District Attorney Robert Carney W e d n e s d a y identified Nesbit as the host of the party and said she is accused of slashing at individuals in the aftermath of the shooting. It was unclear what led to the alleged slashing. The person struck was treated on scene by paramedics, according to papers. Nesbit appeared in City Court on the same morning as a police raid on 811 Bridge St., Apt. 3, across the street from where the stabbing occurred. The raid, police said, was directly connected to the ongoing investigation into Stanley’s death. But it resulted in no arrests. Two individuals found inside were taken into custody for questioning, but released before the morning was out, police said. City police, along with other agencies and the state police SWAT team raided the apartment at about 5 a.m. Wednesday morning. Neighbors reported earlier hearing helicopters and seeing armed police in the street. Located near the scene of the morning’s raid is the ever-growing makeshift memorial to Stanley. Stanley, a promising young basketball player, made his way to a party at 730 Bridge St. early Sunday. There, police said, he was shot fi ve times. He was pronounced dead a short time later. Family have said Stanley was there to meet or help a friend, but exactly what happened at the party remained under investigation. .........................>>>>...........................>>>>..........................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01301&AppName=1
So, this 19 year old who hosted the party, slashed someone with a knife and most likely knows who killed this young man, yet her bail is set at $7,500?
Hum, doesn't quite make the statement that the judicial system in Schenectady is very hard on their criminals now does it? Could be one of the reasons why criminals find a safe haven here.
Justice in Schenectady! This must have been some party-like 1999? Knife wielding-gun toting-old tyme fun. Like the old wild West.
This plus the other "great news" about the snow plow driver selling snow on his route. Heard about garbage men selling snow on trash routes but this is ridiculous. There is no bottom to the City's free fall. Every day another DEM scandal, murder or further evidence of "renaissance".
Schenectady has neighborhoods full of people who aren't really residents they just squat basically between here and NYC and as not quite residents don't feel they need to follow any laws or anything just do exactly what you feel like at any given moment.
Masses were well attended last weekend -- the 2 regularly scheduled Masses and a special Mass later in the afternoon -- and Yorkston Street has been a TWO-WAY STREET for at least 10 years. Our parishioners come from a wide area --- west (from past Amsterdam) ,south (from Hudson) , east from Renselaer, and north (from past mechanicville) --- and ALL of them love Schenectady and want to help to make it a great place to live in, work in, shop in and worship in.
As for the senseless murder on Bridge Street and other issues in the neighborhood, the parish has a;ways had a great concern for neighborhood issues and for many years was a leading force in the neighborhood association. We discussed the neighborhood issue at length - at a meeting last evening - and are going to take steps to once more take a leading role in a movement to improve the neighborhood.

I didn't realize that Yorkston was two way, but then, with frequent shootings in MP, its' much too dangerous to be in that area.
What is "well attended" 50 people when a normal attendance is 60? YES, DV, I'm exaggerating.
So, these people that come from far away, I realize it's an ethnic parish and people have ties to their past, but would you care to explain why people bailed out of Schenectady to begin with? And some coming so far when there is St. Michaels in Waterford which would be much closer?
But really, DV, if these people care, as you claim, about the city, why would they avoid moving here? With gas prices up so high, an brutal winters with dangerous roads, I think it's highly doubful that people would regularly every Sunday pay the high gas prices, put the wear and tear on their car, incur costs from damage to their cars just to go to Mass. A special occasion like an anniversary or something, sure, but otherwise no.
Now, if the people really love Schenectady as you claim, can you tell us all why these people avoid moving here? What is the reason no one will move to Schenectady? Why DV????

Well, we'll se if that's for real. Lsts see if you group posts parish meeting minutes on the parish website or includes info in the bulletin.
And of course we ALL (except DV and SB) know that much of this is becuase neighborhoods have been ignored, vital services have been ignored, all to give money to the millionaires downtown.
Let's just see how much the people of the parish care. Let's see if DV or any parishoners go to council meeting and speak at the POF and state that the city needs to spend the tax dollars in the neighborhoods instead of downtown. Let's just see how real DV's comments are. Let's see if DV is going to venture into the city, and walk around MP at 2 a.m.; heck, let's see if he'll walk around on Crane St in the evening (remember the, what was it, stabbing or shooting a few weeks ago), in an effort to improve the neighborhood. Because DV, the city is NOT to put more police on to patrol. Therre is no money for that now. Just think of the combined city, county, and school taxes that the millionaires do not pay - that total amount could fund more police for the neighborhoods, but nope, not the socialist dem buddies, they won't dream of paying their own taxes.

The parish is NOT the issue of this thread -- but I must respond to a few of the lies made by the he-she monkey and the fraudulent catholic.
Our weekend Masses have good attendances -- not 50 or 60 -- as the lying naysayers claim.
Many of our parishioners are NOT Polish but attend our parish because they choose to.
New people have joined the parish since our pastor retired -- things are going quite well.
There is NO St. Michael's in Waterford ... so you better check your facts out.
Finally --- 2 sets of great-grandparents (on my mother's side) helped to found the parish .. 1 set of grandparents was involved in founding 3 Catholic parishes in the city --- and NONE of them lived within the city limits of Schenectady then or in their later years.
One does NOT have to live in the city to be involved and help support the city and care for the city. My family has proven that for 4 generations --- I will NEVER apologize for living outside the city limits. I am a proud resident of Rotterdam and will remain so.

Obviously you can't read. I did NOT say there only 50 or 60 people attend. I think you better go back to school and learn reading and reading comprehension. I was trying to ask you what "well attended" meant, as in, 80% or 90% of a SMALL total number of parishoners, if youi go back and see the sentence in whch I wrote that you'll see the wording I used. Other people on these boards who have intelligence will understand what I was asking, and trying to use an analogy, albeit exaggerated. If some parish has 1,000 families and there are 200 people that attend church on Sunday, is that better attended or worse attended than a parish that had 60 familes but had 50 people attending regularlly. I don't expect you to comprehend what you read.
So, how many families are parishoners. And if more joined in the past couple months, then for sure there will be an increase in the assessment by the diocese in the bishop's appeal. We'll see the results in the paper.
By the way, I was sightly wrong on St. Michaels, it's Cohoes (I went to a wedding there for people who lived in WAterford, thus the connection of WAterford) , a very very active Polish parish---it's where your retired pastor said Mass on Easter this year, and there is Polish parish in Amsterdam. And that's where I was referncing the ethnic ties, which, DV, I think is great, regardless of which group.
True, one doesn't need to live in the city to be concerned or to attend a specific church. But it will be interesting to see just how much of what you are saying is true---we'll just see how concerned they are knowing that the neighborhood are suffering because all the focuse and money goes to downtown. Or are they going to open a drug rehab center in the old school, babysit all the kids, spend parish money on more police for the city?
Weill the parishoners even once attend the council meeting to express concern?

Dipshit, I know how to read and I was responding to BOTH you and the your lunatic friend MT.
Our parishioners have attended City Council meetings in the past and neighborhood association meetings -- I attended many City Council meetings when I was the Secretary of the neighborhood association. I can't be more specific about what our communal effort will be -- but I do intend to go down to City Hall myself sometime in the near future.
The old school is under lease to the City School District for at least the next 2 years. When that lease is up it will continue to function as our parish center and the remainder of the space could be used for a variety of purposes including housing programs to help people in the neighborhood such as day care or even drug prevention programs.

Who on this board is willing to guarantee that the parish does NOT start and house such programs? Wont' even see it 10 yeras form now.
Let's see how many people attend CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS and speak and ID themselves from the parish saying they are concerned for the safety even of just the peole who come to the church. Gosh, DV, with that neighbrohod being so so very dangerous including daytime, well, the day will soon come when armed guards of some sort will be needed for people to just get from the parking lot into the church building!
And you, you will say you were at city hall, but until you are seen at council or committee meetings, talking during POF, if will just be a lie, just like when the mayor went to Washington the night before that several day conference started but you claimed you saw him when his neighbors said he already left

I have attended City Council meetings and Committee Meetings in the past -- and I did see and speak to Mayor Stratton last January by City Hall ----------------and guess what -- I don't have to prove anything to you or your lunatic friends.
And our parish does a lot ALREADY in the way of outreach to the poor and those in various troubled situations -- we have done that for 108 years ...
How come NO ONE sees MC ..the big mouth talker .. doing ANYTHING constructive to help out his-her community ???????????????????????? When I see you get involved and get your hands dirty helping BUILD UP your community rather than tearing it down -- then I will consider having any further dialog with you in this venue or anywhere else. Until then -- I am through speaking to you.
