Aren't those the wars that Obama was elected to get us out of? We were in 2 when he was elected, right? And now we're in 3? Well ,I guess we're doing good, right? He did close Gitmo, right? Oh, no, that was just REMODELED!
Obama promised to get us out of Iraq and he did. War #1 over. Obama now has an end date for the war in Afghanistan in 2014. War #2 not yet over.
What is your war #3?

That is misleading... unlike Iraq, we WILL have troops in Afghanistan after 2014. They will be in a support role. Many in the active military believe it will end up being similar to South Korea.

Rampage: I'm still waiting for where is War #3?
Tbird: The withdrawal in Afghanistan will be similar to the withdrawal in Iraq. It may not go as planned, or changes may be made, but the plan today is to pull out with no US military presence left there.

The new agreement that Karzai and Obama signed has us possibly on the hook until 2024. This is NOTHING like the Iraq withdrawl.

The 10-year agreement defines the long-term political, economic and military relationship between the U.S. and Afghanistan. It phases out nearly all U.S. troops from Afghanistan by 2014 and transitions their responsibilities to Afghan-led security forces. But it doesn't commit to specific funding or troop levels beyond 2014; those decisions are being left up to Congress to decide
As I posted in post #647: "It may not go as planned, or changes may be made, but the plan today is to pull out with no US military presence left there. "
The Huffington Post piece is correct... Congress can change that tomorrow... it can also change and decide to send US ground troops back into Iraq. Obama's agreement isn't ironclad (like Iraq) and it isn't a guarantee (like Iraq) it is a plan, a schedule, that if all goes as planned (like Iraq) US ground troops will leave and Afghan forces will take over.

Mitt Romney's presidential campaign toasted its top donors today aboard a 150-foot yacht flying the flag of the Cayman Islands, ABC News reports.
"The exclusive event, hosted by a Florida developer on his yacht 'Cracker Bay,' was one of a dozen exclusive events meant to nurture those who have raised more than $1 million for Romney's bid."
Maybe Romney should run as president of the Cayman Islands!

BTw, Clooney would be a huge upgrade on the ticket, replacing the walking, talking blooper video that is Joe Biden.

As far as I know, Obama has no allegiance to Switzerland or any other country other than the USA. He doesn't finance his millions through Switzerland accounts but Willard DOES! Obama doesn't shift his accounts to the Cayman Islands to avoid taxes, the way ROMNEY DOES.

Guilt by Association...I'm using the DNC playbook here. Obama is supported by Hollywood, Hollywood has money in Switzerland and probably the Caymans too... sooo..... GUILTY!

Obama didn't have to avoid paying taxes because he never ran a successful business. But he did manage to purchase a million dollar plus mansion for about a third of the cost with a little help from Tony Rezko who went to jail for bribing Illinois public officials. I believe that the Obama house purchase was one of these "pay to play schemes" that - for now - Rezko and Obama have avoided being indicted for.

Mittens Romney DID run a successful business... So did Gordon Gekko. Hardly an endorsement for honest government.

Yes, Romney DID run a successful business. Obama never did .. he never led anything successfully. Hell -- for all the talk about his being a great community organizer -- there is NOTHING of substance to show in Chicago or Illinois for all those years of community organizing ..... well - at least nothing that actually benefited the public. He did manage to benefit/line his pockets with a few book deals and the mysterious purchase of a million dollar plus mansion through a sweetheart deal arranged by the now-convicted influence peddler, Tony Rezko.
