Attention must be paid to drug activity in Sch’dy

I live on lower Campbell Avenue in Schenectady. It’s time the safety of this neighborhood and the children and people came first.
People have to stand up to the drug activity and for their quality of life. The disruptive behavior is out of hand; there’s a pediatrician’s office on the corner and one block from drug activity.
I and my neighbors have reported this often, but the police never show up, even when we tell them we are watching drug deals going down.
It’s time more people and authorities get involved for a better life and the safety of everyone.

There aren't enough cops and they aren't paid enough.  If we only double the police force and their salaries, then this crime would go away.TIC

They should install unmanned cameras. That's the DEM moron solution to every crime issue. Besides they worked so well on the Bomber shotgun attack.

When you have prohibition on a product that there is great demand for you create a blackmarket. Just like the prohibition of alcohol created and funded the Mafia during the 30's the drug prohibition is funding and creating the cartels and thug dealers.

The only two that have written that statement have been DV and SB, and of course, NEITHER of them has provided one shred of proof to support their statement.   Oh yeah, DV claims the FBI has it on their website, but of course, won't provide the proof that the agency says so.   Just his lies.   Some people spew so much sh*t out their mouth, ewwww, perhaps he, no, forget it, I don't want to get that gross

Why dont you tell everyone why you live here ? Why really ?  If you have a family- why dear God are YOU making them suffer ?  I would have a hard time forgiving my father if he forced us to live anywhere close to Schenectady.  The residue will follow you and your family- the longer you stay the more insane you will become ( like b salami- who runs around like a chicken with his head cut off). You have no solutions THAT WORK..

and maybe you could stop  begging for someone to explain why it is so nice to live here- -  You must have friends or relatives that left town long ago- quit thinking about it- do the right thing- your kids will thank you someday.

The FBI's own statistics show that CERTAIN crimes are DOWN over the past 10 years  -- that is what I said before --- and THAT is a fact.

Bank robberies are down because nobody living here has any money left to put in the bank after paying their high taxes.

Then there are people who do live in Schenectady. Buying homes 10, 15, 20 years ago when there was a promise of revitalization, economic improvements and taxes were equal to that of surrounding towns. Now, our homes are worth nothing. We can't sell them (taxes are double the mortgage payments) and no one would rent in a crime ridden neighborhood. We have been lied to, have had our neighborhoods ignored and continually are forced to pay for the fiscal incompetence of City leaders and the Metroplex.

This November, you will see the current leadership completely voted out. The City residents have had enough and no amount of cheerleading, ignoring reality or empty promises will help the current leaders. They have systematically destroyed Schenectady.

I hope this is right, but we'll see.  There's an awful lot of people in Schenectady that just don't pay attention to what's happening, and just vote the party lines.  We need some change throughout the county / state / federation.

I agree with you. But most folks can NOT sell their homes. Have you looked at the homes for sale in schenectady? NO TAKERS!! Why? First because the taxes are tooooooo high and second the school district can't graduate 50% of their students. They can't even give the homes away in the GE plot!!

But to your point, some folks have left. They just picked up their personal belongings and walked away letting their homes go into default because a)they couldn't afford the taxes/fees and b)there were no buyers! And the rest..........wellmost are on welfare/section 8!

Those who live in the city and are supported by welfare programs will continue to vote for the Dems in hopes of keeping the flow of taxpayer money to fund their welfare checks.

In 1992 we listed my grandfathers house on Schenectady st ( a few doors down for the original Demarco funeral home  for $ 43,500) we tried selling it for five years- we collected rent, I figured the home was worth nothing then so we gave it away- I swear to God we gave that house to the people living there NOW.  What are you people thinking- there is a tsunami coming-  no politician can help. and hey I dont know- Im sorry if maybe some of you are in wheelchairs -

I agree that there's a tsunami coming and most people are not prepared for it, it's going to get ugly before it's over.
