I drove up State St today and the KFC in woodlawn is now shuttered. Must be that wonderful State St remodel that backs traffic up a half mile and makes people who live in Colonie vow to never drive down State street again. These "experts" are so smart at spending millions to ruin everything.

I didn't realize that. I like me some KFC once in a great while, especially the cole slaw. Used to love the extra crispy chicken until they took the transfat out, then the flavor was never the same. Shame another business closes. Used to go to Boston Chicken on Union St until that closed. Everything's closing.

Hey, there's still the one KFC down in the land Metroplex forgot, between Erie and the ruver, right?  So what?  It's a chain business. It's not like we spend tax money to bring in chais, right?  Oh, wait, we do.  Oops.

What are you talking about?  I've never seen such traffic going in either direction in that area...  I actually think the remodel made it easier and safer to drive with one single turning lane for both directions instead of 2 lanes in both directions and people weaving in and out of the lanes to avoid someone stopped ahead.

How's does the KFC by Gillen's Gulch stay open? DEM County "leader" Gary Hughes was right! The City needs another useless DSIC further up State St in Woodlawn. Then they can close more businesses with another property tax. And have more tree grates to recycle.

It isn't good to see these businesses close like this! And while the taxpayer is smart enough to hold on to the little money that they have, the plex and schenectady officials continue on a collision course!! Spending taxpayer's money like drunken sailors.

So now the businesses close and the residents are walking away from their homes because neither can pay their taxes!!!

VOTE THEM ALL OUT!!

It's one of those high-fat restaurants, and besides that, it's a chain.  I can think of one person currently sitting on the County Legislature that happens to have changed parties and pushed to help make our children healthier by pushing legislation to make sure they put right up on the menu exactly how unhealthy the food is for the people who used to come in to buy their product.

Congratulations, Angelo Santabarbara, and all who push business-unfriendly legislation.

...and don't forget about how this is part of the continuing renaissance throughout Schenectady.

People aren't buying fried chicken like they used to ... and the service in both of those places has been bad for years.

Trends are changing -- even the Wendy's on Route 20 near Crossgates Mall has closed.

Many people -- such as my family -- prefer to patronize family owned restaurants -- and there are only about 7 in the Capital District [3 in town and 4 outside town (although 5 of the 7 are owned by town residents) ] that we actually patronize.

Some businesses are doing well ... some are closing ... that is life in a capitalist economic system.  get over it and stop crying because MC , the candy man , and Kuckoo Kelly  won't have anyplace to fill their faces with greasy fried chicken.

This tragedy could have been avoided if the sheeple had actually listened to DEM County "leader" Gary Hughes. He's totally against ending the DSIC ripoff-he actually wanted to extend it up State St! Chase more business out of the County. If only KFC had to pay another tax for useless curbing, flags and tree grates they might have stayed.

BTW, check out the last County Legislature meeting on TV-18. Gary Hughes is another Paul Tonko prattling on endlessly and saying nothing. He was strongly in support of cutting Rotterdam's voting strength. Then he thanked the public speakers despite the fact that every one of them was against his voting "plan".

The fact of the matter is, and the really sad part is  that the building will be vacant for years to come. Just another empty building to add to already blight in the city.

IT'S A MIRACLE!!

The service at both KFC's was horrible, but Woodlawns was better and you didn't get the impression you were about to be mugged like the one on lower state. Another miracle for Schenectady.

The business district of Woodlawn, like every other one in the City, has been devastated by the DEM working together crew. High taxes, high crime, nonexistent services. When you have 35 years of DEM anti-business policies don't complain when you have no businesses.

We don't need no Walgreens on the filthy parking lot at Brandywine/State. We don't need no $50,000 in additional sales taxes. We need a bigger foot print for Death Ray to stick in his mouth. Go to Saratoga County for delicious fried chicken, fine furniture, bedding, clothes, cars and everything else.
