It surely must be to collect petition signatures....and it's probably for FDG. I understand he has hired a political consultant to organize and oversee his renegade campaign to run for re-election for Town Supervisor.
I saw the ad and it is for the next several months...this must mean that he is going to file a Designating Petition for the Conservative Party....possibly Opportunity to Ballot (write-ins) for major Parties and other minor Parties...and probably one or more Independent Nominating Petitions. |

The tactic of paying people to collect signatures can be tricky legal ground to navigate. It is an area often misunderstood (or simply ignored) by even seasoned election operatives. Anyone embarking on this task, either as an organizer or participant, should be aware of the law.
It is a violation of New York Election Law to offer to pay campaign workers who collect petition signatures wages based on the number of signatures they obtain. This is a misdemeanor under New York Election Law Section 17-122(4). New York Election Law Section 17-122(4) expressly forbids payment to petition carriers on the basis of the number of signatures obtained, and doing so constitutes a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail.
I haven't seen the ad nor am I suggesting that whoever is behind it is offering to pay per signature collected but I thought it prudent to offer a note of caution. |

You are right about that Michael...typically they offer per hour rates and require a minimum number of signatures, or range, per hour recorded by the petition carrier....like 3-5 0r 5-8, for example. |

He can pay for as many petition carriers as he wants, he's wasting his money. Especially after Wed. night's T.B. meeting . . . . |
