This city is so pathetic regarding the wearing of what could be considered gang related symbols too. The section in the School disterct handbook on not being allowed to wear anything that could be consider a gang related symbol was taken out. No$.

Any reasonable and thinking person knows that the gangs and drugs are EVERYWHERE ... even in the quiet "bedroom communities of Saratoga County and in the rural areas. Gangs are everywhere so there is nothing unique about Schenectady's implosion?-lol I see many gang bangers in Root and Hadley. The FEDS had to get involved because the working together DEM morons ignored the growing crime/gang/drug problem for decades. The record level of City taxation was wasted on nonprofits, summer camps and curbing. Anyone that demanded a City gang round up was "too negative".
Working together works was a political trick to implode the towns and County down to the pathetic level of the City. Removing checks and balances and replacing public servants with DEM stooges. A way to pass the buck to the County which then did nothing. You have succeeded! Scotia is number 4 on the worst taxed list with Niskayuna and Rotterdam moving up under one party DEM morons. But don't fret. The imbalance at local level will be corrected in November.

With all the tax money we are paying the County and localities they can't nip the growing gang problem in the bud. Anyone that thinks this is the only gang is also in the bag. There will be a turf war to decide who will get the old sod. Let Federal prosecutors lock up these knuckleheads-too bad no death penalty over there.
The gang issue has been in the making for years and years. And even though any decent minded person would commend law enforcement for their efforts, it is a little too late for schenectady. It will take more years to undo the gang issue than it took to create it. If this gang issue was addressed years ago, when it was first apparent, there wouldn't be a 2nd Hamilton Hill (mt.pleasant)
All this has done is open up the opportunity for new gangs, or the ones left standing, to fight over the turf that has been left unattended to by those arrested.

I have NEVER said there was no crime in the city. I did say that according to FBI statistics certain types of crime are down compared to 10 years ago.
