The Green Eyed Goddess & I went for a short walk at a nearby nature trail just before dusk.  Only a 45 minute walk but we found at least 4 or 5 ticks each on our clothes... none on our body.  If you can be exposed for such a short time and still find that many ticks, this must be a bumper crop year for ticks.

Yup they're in force this year, I had 1 so far but found a few on my clothes over the last month or 2. Usually you will get them by walking through tall grass or brush but it seems they are everywhere including short grass this year. Kinda sucks because I love going out in or near the woods but they're starting to deter me from doing so. I noticed Collins Park near jumping jacks seems to have a lot of them so just a heads up.

You do NOT have to have the bulls eye rash to have Lyme. Please for anyone that has been bitten, get a lyme test done. Even if you feel okay, just get a test done. I went undiagnosed for 3 yrs.

You are absolutely correct. But unfortunately, you sometimes have to tell your doc that you DID have the bullseye even if you didn't. Many docs won't run the test unless you tell them you did. TRUST ME, I KNOW!!

Very true. There is SO much controversy over Lyme disease. It doesn't get the attention it needs, especially from Drs! This area is one of the WORST if not THE WORST area for ticks.

Everyone needs to watch Under our skin on WMHT Coming up this week or next. I have it set on my DVR. I'll find out exactly what channel and time/date and post it, but I'm about 99% sure it is on WMHT World (channel 5hundred something....) at 9pm on the 31st.
