Tonko an undefeated, omnipresent politician
MARV CERMAK COVERING SCHENECTADY
Published 12:01 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2011

Whether you are a supporter, detractor or indifferent regarding U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko, the guy has been invincible at the polls through the decades.

The Democrat started his political career winning races for a seat on the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors. He was undefeated in 13 Assembly elections.

He generally breezes to victory, including his most recent outing that returned him to Washington. If there is a chink in his armor, colleagues and media types agree it's his penchant for long-winded speeches.

Tonko was among those attending last week's Schenectady Independence Party fundraiser. Rich Nebolini, party county chairman, introduced various office holders to the crowd, including Tonko.

Nebolini said his mother was watching C-SPAN recently and noticed Tonko speaking at a congressional session. He said his mother said she fell asleep during the program.

"She said when she woke up an hour and a half later, Tonko was still talking,'' Nebolini said, cracking up the crowd. Over time, I've twisted Tonko's tail for verbal incontinence.

Say what you want, but there is no denying he is a super-duper campaigner who shows up all over the place. So much so, that whenever I see two people on a street corner I wonder if Paul Tonko is one of them....................>>>>.......................>>>>.....................Read more: http://www.timesunion.com/defa.....97.php#ixzz1NGSBL8TE

Paul does OK... If you want to hear a 'painful' program, listen to a report delivered by Shelly Silver.  He's a smart guy, but his delivery is as exciting as watching paint dry.

We need to vote for the candidate by the words. and the deeds, not by the delivery.  An exciting speech about nothing is just nothing... content is what matters.

That's the problem with Tonko his content. A reliable stooge for every tax/fee and nit wit spending scheme. Yeah he shows up with dancing shoes at every festa. How was Amsterdam doing 40 years ago when he first got elected? And Now? He embarrassed himself defending Obamacare on weak commerce clause grounds. Instead of dancing at every festa and eating free pasta he should hold more town hall meeting and address issues. On second thought keep eating the comped pizza fritte.

Tonko obviously considers his top priority to be continuous campaigning. It's easy for a Democrat to get elected and re-elected over and over again
in a DEMOCRAT city, a DEMOCRAT Assembly District and a DEMOCRAT Congressional District....especially when that same DEMOCRAT has always redrawn
political subdivision lines to keep them DEMOCRAT.

The real victory is the conservative REPUBLICAN who breaks the DEMOCRAT hold on the DEMOCRAT Assembly District.

Gadfly... Keep an eye on the NY 26 election today.  The Totally Republican district was considered a 'safe' Republican seat when vacated by the pervert incumbent who resigned.

The Democrat is running against the Republican Medicare slash plan and may pull off a win in a Republican swamp.

He's doing better than OK. Still lives at home while he snaps up slums on the East Side of Amsterdam. But he cares alot-lol. In 40 years of "public service" one accomplishment-the bridge to nowhere in Amsterdam. Won't even rent an office in empty miracle City prefers a cheap office in City Hall. The big moron vote here and the City of Albany keeps him in a huge double dip.

Tonko is charsimatic.  People love him.  Ya know why???  When he talks to you--he looks at you--he hears you--he wants to help you.  Reps might as well crawl back under the rocks if they want to run against him.  He's tough to beat.

He wants to help you? How? By raising every tax and fee. By being against ANY Federal cuts, except to the military. By supporting lifting the blockade of terrorist Hamas. By taking a State Pension while on the Federal Payroll. By being against any charter schools. By being against life. By being against 2nd amendment rights.

Only in this area, dominated by a huge DEM moron vote, could some one with so little substance be a political "leader".

Where ever there is a gathering, cameras and media...........you'll find Tonko.
It would be refreshing to find folks who would vote their ideology instead of their emotions.

Actually, I think it's the other way around, just Tonko is from Amsterdam, and Schumer is from New York City.

Schumer in a class by himself. Tonko is bad but hardly in Schumer's league. Tonko cares a lot. About feathering his nest while handing you a line of crap. He avoids any public discourse like the plague. Absolute disgrace that he is representing hard working people in Schoharie, Montgomery and our county.

Conservative Message Boards are all very similar...
The Democrat is insulted:
Senator X is a jerk.

(Next poster)
Yup, he's a jerk!

(Next poster)
Yea he's a real jerk!

(Next poster)
And he's a dumb a**.

(First poster again)
A dumb a** Jerk! HA HA HA!

(Next poster)
He's almost as bad as  Senator Y but Senator X is definitely a jerk!

(First poster again)
You got that right... A dumb a** Socialist jerk.

(Second poster again)
Ha Ha Ha!  A real jerk!

It continues until someone thinks of some other Democrat to insult.  I guess they find it entertaining.
