When they replay this on OSM, they should loop clips from the movie "Psycho" in, and run the theme song, or better yet, the "Cops" theme song as KR is being pulled out in handcuffs!!!
It's amazing that FDG and Bob G would sit up there and stifled Kelly's speech during privilege of the floor and ACTUALLY CALL THE POLICE, because they disagreed with what she had to say to the board about REMS and how the vote was handled. They couldn't stand there and take the heat.. THEN, after shouting down Kelly and calling the police, Bob G grandstanded and lectured the Spotlight to clarify why REMS was awarded the bid. It seems to me, the new standards of this Town Board is, that disagreeable speech is now considered disruptive. The Revitalize Reich does not like being challenged, and if you do, THEY WILL CALL THEIR GESTAPO TO CRUSH ANY FURTHER DISSENT.
Wait a second...just for arguments sake, what difference does it make that ND didn't cast her vote? It would have passed anyway 3-1 without her. Am I missing something here? Seems like a whole $hit show for no reason...just more reason Rotterdam should insert "not so" in it's motto...right after the "A"

The difference is that her vote and the accompanying explanation would have, and should have been included....since she is obviously the only one who gets it. Like many people in this Town, she was sympathetic to REMS being unaware of the options with regard to this issue....until she was made aware of the whole story...one of the best kept secrets in Town...for years.

You know why...Because a vote cast on the REMS issue, (an issue that a tax district was put up for referendum to support the REMS) puts a person on record as to where they stand on this BIG issue. I believe ND is hedging on the issue by voting yes to create the taxing district then claiming she would vote no on the contract. But now the bigger point is, why is the TB shouting down resdients when they don't like what they are hearing?
Gadfly - I suppose. Just seems like she could have said all those things in the weeks before the vote. The thing that baffles me even more is that I here she's not running for anything.
Cicero - I don't agree with stifling free speech, but BG did have a point. During privilege of the floor, speakers are asked to address the council, not individual members. And it's for good reason too. Otherwise during election time, you'd have political operatives get up and give four minute speeches lambasting their incumbent opponents. You also have to maintain a modicum of order. What I watched above reflects real poorly upon the town.

Cicero...with all due respect, we have been over this...ND did not vote to create a tax DISTRICT...she voted yes to putting the measure up to a vote...and as she stated last night, she wanted a FAIR vote in which the voters would decide their own fate.
I love seeing Justin Mason doing his best not to crack up in the front row there with the other reporter. The other town meetings are not like this!
"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Thank you for your partial agreement on the vote...but it is worthy to note that ND had attempted to get the Board to agree on a decision prior to the ems vote...which would have forced the others to take a position that would have left only one resolution... to award REMS the contract...on which she would have voted no...instead of the games she recognized as just that...games...an attempt to escape the facts and their twisted rationalization for awarding REMS the contract.

Yes, we have been over this...A taxing district had to be CREATED before it could be put up for referendum. My belief is, if you vote to create it, it's a vote in support of it. If you truly believe it is unnecessary, and believe a private company can provide Rotterdam the same level of service without subsidized by a taxing district, you vote no on an unnecessary taxing district. If you want to hedge and play the let’s spend $30k on a vote in December to "leave it up to the residents" card and never publically take a position, then claim you were against it all along, then you are playing politics. That's not leadership.

So during Privilege of the Floor, it is ok for Diane Marco to stand at the podium and single out FDG, and PRAISE him up and down how about how great he was to donate HIS salary toward the Senior Center kitchen remodel, and how Bob God slobbered all over him about great he was to build the Veterans Memorial? Or how about when Nicki Dileva and Matt Martin singled out Mrs. Malaczinski (pardon the spelling) and attempted to publicly humiliate her? No...Of course that's not playing politics to a captured audience. Please HACK, this Town Board is nothing but a bunch of incompetent thin skinned bullies. Kelly took them to task, and FDG was stumbling and stammering more that normal, then Bob God turned pale and called the police. What a bunch of fools.
