Another mplex success.

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

Another mplex success.

A 109 year family business is closing throwing 6 people out of work. Nary a word in the former "independent voice", If it ain't cheer leading-it ain't news?

No retail business Downtown. 5 other Downtown businesses are fixin to close. On top of the high property taxes are the Metrograft sales tax and DSIC taxes. Now Death Ray can expand Gillen's Gulch where Robinson's Furniture used to be. Lower State looks like a neutron bomb went off.

When this kind of thing happens Death Ray and his people usually have something snide and snarkey to say like "We are not concerned because that company has been a huge detriment to us moving forward and reaching out to improve the 200 block." or "We finally will be able to have Metroplex control of a key parcel that will energize our redevelopment efforts along that corridor and bring much more foot traffic into downtown." or best yet- "The Olender family was not working with Metroplex in a way that the other more successful outfits along State st have. The synergy needed to move that block along was lacking and we are very optimistic that we will be able to fill that space with a more upscale tenant by involving a more closely in-tune developer. We can finally get the right tenant mix on that block and that will remove a key impediment we have had with them there! There were really bottom feeders!"

Now tell me, do I know them or WHAT? Watch what he says when something like this happens!

The only small business, besides the camera shop, below Erie is closing after 109 years! Where was Death Ray's comments on Channel 13? He was too busy at ShopRite grandstanding over the gas fumes. He got a total facial on Union St- Finally the chickens are coming home to roost Downtown. He took $100 million in sales tax money and flushed it down the toilet. Had enough-YET?

The Parker Inn was the first of many Downtown to go belly up. 5 more TBA! If you need a mattress/box spring/head board go down to Olender's starting Saturday and help them clear out the excess inventory.

Very sad. The city is in full decline and only the subsidized outfits can stay afloat and be profitable (on the middle class taxpayer backs.)

We personally haven't been in Olender's in years!!!

We don't and won't venture down there.

Although it is sad when any long time business closes it's doors.
Especially in Schenectady. It really isn't the greatest PR for schenectady.

OH, no one is happy with this news!!! Failing businesses are just a sign of not only the bad economy, but proof that schenectady is not the hub for businesses to survive. UNLESS.....they are given tax exempt status. At least they are guaranteed to stay around for a few years while the rest of the city residents pays their taxes.

Like I said..................this isn't good PR for schenectady.

But I'm sure that Gillen will be in the press soon stating that there are businesses already looking to occupy that location. If not.....the plex will buy it for $200K and sell it to one of the chosen who belong to the friends and family club for a $1!!!

And WE aren't the vultures. You can bet that everyone in the friends and family club are already flying around that corpse looking for a deal!!

Certainly better than "miracle"
