Revolutionary War re-enactment is set at Mabee Farm
As far as local historians know, there has never been a shot fi red in anger at the Mabee Farm since it was built more than three centuries ago. Hopefully, that won’t change this weekend. Owned and operated by the Schenectady County Historical Society, the Mabee Farm Historic Site is hosting its annual Revolutionary War Re-enactment and Voorjaar Fest on Saturday and Sunday. Included in the list of guests will be The King’s Royal Yorkers and the 2nd Albany County Militia. Arch-enemies when the American Revolution began in 1775, the two groups battled each other for more than six years throughout much of upstate New York. When the war finally came to an end, the Royal Yorkers, many of them New Yorkers before heading to Canada in 1775, returned north to begin a new life as Canadians. and despite the fact that they might have a different perspective on it, things never get heated. ....................>>>>........................>>>>.........................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01701&AppName=1
