au contraire dear boxie - I was honoring your memorable "service" in Vietnam, and the PTSD that followed.

Something that you know nothing about.  I would expect as much from you.  MT, always the coward.

Gitmo is still open.
The 5 dayt comment period is there for MANY BUT NOT ALL bills.  Haven't you noticed???
The Shovel ready jobs, just like the GWB stimulus are both a victim of the George Worst Bush Economic Meltdown.

Now... although very serious, and a drain on all Americans, these problems are minor compared to the $!trillion dollar unnecessary, optional war for the WMD'S.

Had Georgie not opted to hunt for Iraqi oil... the USA would have $1trillion dollars... that's $1,000,000,000,000.00.  We spent the trillion dollars and 4400 American lives looking for "slam dunk"... "we know where they are"... Weapons Of Mass Destruction.
I've answered your questions... now answer mine... Where are the WMD's that cost America $1,000,000,000,000.00 and 4400 lives.
Kinda makes closing GITMO a minor issue huh?

I don't need to answer your question, I did not support the Iraq war in any form, it was unnecessary.
Check my post history, I have been very consistent on that. "Combat" troops are out, but make no mistake, many troops remain... and will remain for YEARS.
Barry has added 5 trillion to the deficit, lets minus the one trillion for the Iraq war, he is still responsible for 4 trillion of it. He had two years, with a complete Democratically controlled government to truly change things. The only thing he changed was our debt load. He failed miserably on that accord. I know you don't want to talk about the present, because frankly, there isn't much you can say to defend it. But, Barry isn't the answer... unfortunately, I see no republican yet that can put as good a show as the DNC, so, we'll probably be saddled with another 5.5 years of soaring deficits, a treasury that prints money like toilet paper, and a dollar that isn't worth sh*t.

I think the American people are smart enough to realize Bush isn't president anymore, and hasn't been for over 2 years.  If the Democrat/Liberal narrative is to resurrect Bush as a straw man, they are doomed for 2012.  I see a pattern; Obama is all about "leading from behind" and straw man arguments by propping up GWB.

Box, do you team a favor, start listing Obama accomplishment.  It's not hard, it's a short list.

1.  Killed Bin Laden

And he botched the message by trying to sensationalize it for political reason.

I think you will agree that the economic situation when Obama took over was in a free fall, and heading to the bottom.  Obama did stop the free fall... but as yet has managed little through his efforts to rebuild the economy.
This wasn't just a 'downturn' in the economy... it was almost a global depression like the world has never experienced.

and the republican solution... yea... the same solution to every problem... a tax cut.  How lame.

As I stated before... if Obama manages to get the US economy back to where it was when GWB took office, he will be a total success.

Here is a short list from 2009... a year and a half ago...

Ordered a review of all federal operations to identify and cut wasteful spending and practices

Instituted enforcement for equal pay for women

Beginning the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq

Families of fallen soldiers have expenses covered to be on hand when the body arrives at Dover AFB

Ended media blackout on war casualties; reporting full information

Ended media blackout on covering the return of fallen soldiers to Dover AFB; the media is now permitted to do so pending adherence to respectful rules and approval of fallen soldier's family

The White House and federal government are respecting the Freedom of Information Act

Limits on White House aides working for lobbyists after their tenure in the administration

Ended the previous stop-loss policy that kept soldiers in Iraq/Afghanistan longer than their enlistment date

Phasing out the expensive F-22 war plane and other outdated weapons systems, which weren't even used or needed in Iraq/Afghanistan

Removed restrictions on embryonic stem-cell research

Federal support for stem-cell and new biomedical research

New federal funding for science and research labs

States are permitted to enact federal fuel efficiency standards above federal standards

Increased infrastructure spending (roads, bridges, power plants) after years of neglect

Funds for high-speed, broadband Internet access to K-12 schools

    New funds for school construction

    US Auto industry rescue plan

    Housing rescue plan

    $789 billion economic stimulus plan

The public can meet with federal housing insurers to refinance (the new plan can be completed in one day) a mortgage if they are having trouble paying

US financial and banking rescue plan

Ended the previous policy; the US now has a no torture policy and is in compliance with the Geneva Convention standards

Better body armor is now being provided to our troops

The missile defense program is being cut by $1.4 billion in 2010

Restarted the nuclear nonproliferation talks and building back up the nuclear inspection infrastructure/protocols

How many would be enough for you???  I still have 2010 and part of 2011 to go.

Oh Yea... I forgot one...
Killing Osama Bin Laden... a priority that GWB gave up on.

What did he do the stop the freefall? Increase our national debt by 4 trillion? Long term, the borrowing will hurt even more than just paying the interest as it has vaulted the Chinese into position as the worlds biggest economy... we will be paying for that for decades.
Republicans love tax breaks, Democrats haven't seen a tax dollar they can't spend. Neither one of those strategies will work long term. They both are appealing to their bases with no concern beyond the next election cycle. People that "get it" are vilified by both sides as a "tax and spend liberal" or an "evil rich guy" who wants to throw Grandma out in the street. The sad part, the American public thinks they are watching a sporting event and pick sides. A good portion are too stupid to see whats really going on.

Its amazing what you can do when you have a credit card with a 4 TRILLION dollar credit limit... and when you reach that you can just raise the limit yourself.

"The White House and federal government are respecting the Freedom of Information Act"

We'll see about that when some group files a request to see OBL death pictures

Let us not forget that due to Barney Frank and the Dems causing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to fail which in turn caused major losses for the banks which then needed to be bailed out to keep from failing really helped the economy to tank. You can't blame it all on GWB anymore Box the Dems were right there to block Bush when he wanted to overhaul Fannie and Freddie.

"The most transparent government in history"-lol. A one term disaster. Foreign policy joke. UBL is a bilp on the radar screen. But boy he can read a teleprompter like nobody can. Gas prices maybe high but I heard Obama has taken 3 strokes off his game.

How can you say that it stopped the “free fall”?  Are you some kind of oracle?  I disagreed with the Bush bailout and the Obama stimulus...In both cases they mortgaged our kid’s futures and destroyed the dollar to stop the so called "free fall".  Our leaders delayed the immediate pain for a prolonged pain that our children will have to deal with...It was a cowardly and irresponsible move for political purposes.  I agree that the economy was in tough shape, I don’t agree that the solution was to further destroy our economy and dollar by printing money and socializing our medical system.  This generation of Americans was not willing to sacrifice their lifestyles for the future generations, but rather sacrifice the lifestyles of future generations so they can continue their lavish lifestyles.

The combination of the Bush/Obama economic polices enslaved our children by paying off debt they didn’t create.

the economy is ALLOWED to do what it was/is doing....why?....because virtual value $$$ is king......we can call it American dollars/Yen/Pounds etc and it wouldn't matter..
the internet and international trade exists virtually....and unless we line up to hand over our finger prints/SS#/bloodtype/realID we dont get to trade in it....
it doesn't matter about $$...we will be trading in virtual 'units', and not a one of us will know the value execpt that some moron in charge told us how many units
bread will be this week.....

barter or trade?

the president either present or past work in the same think-tanks......got it....

war will always happen....we dont have a giant army because we MAKE folks enlist......duh

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.
