Usama bin Laden is dead, multiple sources confirm to Fox News.

President Obama is expected to deliver a statement from the White House Sunday night to discuss the major development.

Sources said bin Laden was killed by a U.S. bomb a week ago. The U.S. had been waiting for the results of a DNA test to confirm his identity.

The announcement comes nearly a decade after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks which started a tireless hunt for the terrorist mastermind and Al Qaeda leader.

I hear it's even confirmed by other "left-wing" channels, too, so it must be true.

Official: Osama bin Laden is dead

US has his body, source says

BREAKING NEWS

WASHINGTON — Osama bin Laden is dead and the US has his body, says person familiar with developments.

President Barack Obama was to make the announcement shortly that after searching in vain for bin Laden since he disappeared in Afghanistan in late 2001, the Saudi-born extremist is dead.

It is a major accomplishment for Obama and his national security team, having fulfilled the goal once voiced by Obama's predecessor, George W. Bush, to bring to justice the mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the Sept. 11 attacks against the United States, is dead, and the U.S. is in possession of his body, a person familiar with the situation said late Sunday.

President Barack Obama was expected to address the nation on the developments Sunday night.

It was unclear where how bin Laden was killed and how the U.S. captured his body. Officials have long believed bin Laden, the most wanted man in the world, was hiding a mountainous region along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to speak ahead of the president.

Good news but after hearing Obama's address it sounds like this will be just another push for further military spending for our adventures overseas. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist but the timing seems almost to good to be true. Lets see what is happening right now.

1- Our debt ceiling vote is coming up
2- 75% of Americans now disagree with our foreign policies
3- Talks of military spending is a hot issue at the moment
4- Already I'm hearing about how some of our agencies like DHS,CIA,FBI should receive more funding
5-Right now fear tactics is in full swing, I'm already hearing how we need to be more aggressive at home in order to remain safe, in other words give up our liberties for security.

STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH
by George W. Bush on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 11:55pm

May 1, 2011

Quoted Text

Earlier this evening, President Obama called to inform me that American forces killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al Qaeda network that attacked America on September 11, 2001.  I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission.  They have our everlasting gratitude.  This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001.  The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message:  No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.

Who are we kidding.  So what.  If something like that happened to our leader there are many to follow up in his shoes.

How will John Q. Public know for sure.   Will there be a showing of the body?   Probably not as to not inflame the enemy.   But some years ago when some of our boys were killed they were hung from a bridge for public display.  (can anyone elaborate on the specific instance I refer to, I remember it was 3-4 years ago?)   At any rate we will not be leaving that theater of combat any time soon.   This event will only further our resolve, regardless of how long it takes, to irradicate this nemesis.   A plus for Obama: this will distract the public away from domestic issues for a few days, at least until we fill up the gas tank again.   He surely will be accorded the credit for the elimination of Bin Laden as it did come on his watch.   It will allude to his agressive stance in this military operation, hoping to change a view held by many, that he is too soft/non-commital at times.   Monday headlines:   Bin Laden is dead, gas continues to rise, life goes on.

Anybody questioning whether he is dead or not will automatically be called a conspiracy loon...If Obama doesn't offer up proof within the next few days, he will be purposely fostering a conspiracy theory for political benefits.  He wants to marginalize the right wing as loony and extreme and even racist to help his 2012 re-election bid.IMO

There shouldn't be any doubt that he is dead but I have to question the timing of it for the reasons I mentioned above. He hasn't released a video of himself in how long, following Sept 11 he seemed to released dozens of videotapes which stopped altogether long ago. While this news will no doubt help Obama  in the polls that isn't what should be at play or be watched.

God Bless President Obama-

Congratulations to the Navy Seals,  US Intelligence and Military who participated in the Bin Laden raid.
I expected that when this day would come, BinLaden would be killed by a smart bomb or cruise missile. This mission was done the 'hard way' and successfully completed with out loss to our troops.

This is good news Box no denying it, I just find it hard to believe we killed him then had time to find a sample DNA match from a family member, get it shipped back to the US, have it tested and the results confirmed and then have time to give him a proper muslim burial at sea in less than 24 hours.
