For me voting for Paul would take a failure on the Democrat side.  I've voted for Republicans before and supported some that I didn't vote for.
There are one issue voters... abortion, gun control, peace... who will vote for the issue, not really the candidate.

There are voters who vote their conviction.  They agree with the candidate and will vote for him no matter how little his chances of winning.

I have seldom voted for a candidate who is perfect, but instead vote for the closest to my values.  Usually Democrat, but not always.

For me to vote for Paul, the Democrat party would have to collapse and resemble the Republicans.  That would put Paul into the middle ground for me, with no candidate to the left.

What is Obama?  With multiple military operation in the Middle East, continuation of Gitmo, the continuation of extraordinary rendition, the continuation of "Bush Tax Cuts", the cozy relationship with multi-national corporations like GE, raking in HUGE donations from the "fat cats" on Wall St. and fat cat bankers.  What do you see that is different?  You don't think this debt limit debate or "theater" by the party leadership is real do you?  If Boehner and McConnell didn't have to deal with the Rand Paul's and Marco Rubio's this debt ceiling would have been raised and both parties would have taken a share of the money to bring back to the big money donor multi national corporations that fund the campaigns.

Both parties have been failing for DECADES.  You don't rack up $14 TRILLION in debt and call it success.

Cicero likes to rant and rave... post a bunch of crap as if it were true.
I've taken the time to answer his rants and he continues on as if I'd not posted a thing, but instead, he starts his next rant, in an endless procession of disjointed proclamations.

I could point out his errors, and I could point out where we disagree, or even where we agree, but it's pointless.  He is immune to any kind of incoming information that doesn't fit his agenda... So ... why bother.

Box, I see you and Cyril disagree all the time, but this is one of his best posts. I be entertained to here your response rather than just dismissing him.

Box likes to dismiss the truth that doesn't fit into his ideology, and then post nothing to back up his claims.  Box finds it much easier to attack the character and reputation of the person making the argument by calling it "rants and raves", than actually make a counter argument.  It's a lazy man debate.

At your age and with your service in the military, I would have thought you have become wise to the fact of - the more things change the more they stay the same.

Afghanistan is now the longest U.S. combat operation in our nations history.  Sound familiar?  People like comparing Obama to Carter.  I think a better comparison would be with LBJ.

Today is the "Ready, Ames, Fire" money bomb for Paul, if you could chip in that would be great. His campaign relies on our small donations and cause of us he is in 2nd place in fundraising with $4.5 million. Already we raised over $65,000 today... not to shabby lets help him even more

you can donate here, no amount is to small.

OK Better, this one's for you.
Cicero takes a shovel full of rant and throws it at this board.  No real thought behind it.  It's goes in all directions at the same time, hoping that some of it sticks.
I'll try to make it brief.

    Quoted from CICERO

1.  ~ What is Obama?
Barack Hussein Obama is the duly elected president of the United States.  But also the first Black US President... a fact that many here can't seem to live with.

2. ~With multiple military operation in the Middle East,
Iraq and Afghanistan, are Bush wars started in the Middle east... Libya is in Africa, not the middle east.
The Two Middle East Wars are George Worst Bush's failure, left for Obama to solve.
The Iraq disaster is winding down, and there is a plan to end major troop involvement in Iraq by the end of the year.  If Iraq requests US assistance beyond that time, some troops may continue there.  So far they have not asked.
Afghanistan is now (IMO) Obama's war.  His surge was militarily successful, but there is no success in Afghanistan, so the Surge was irrelevant.  Afghanistan is at a crossroads and as far as I'm concerned, that war ended with the killing of Osama Bin Laden.  But like Iraq, getting out of Bush's Afghanistan fiasco is so much more difficult that starting that war.
Libya is a short term NATO mission. Every day more countries recognize the opposition forces in Libya to be the legitimate government there.
As a side note: When Ronnny The Reygun bombed Libya in 1986, two U.S. Air Force captains — Fernando L. Ribas-Dominicci and Paul F. Lorence — were killed when their F-111 fighter-bomber was shot down over the Gulf of Sidra.  Republicans were cheering Reagan on then.  Today they, like Cicero, seem to take the Gadaffi's side in the battle... they are miraculously transformed into Peace Advocates! LOL As yet, Obama has keep US troops safe in months of missions... something the GOP god, Reagan didn't do.

3. ~continuation of Gitmo, the continuation of extraordinary rendition.
Both false statements.  Although Obama's promise to close Gitmo has not happened, the situation there is no longer the Bush Torture Chamber of the past.  Since taking over as president, Obama has not added one new prisoner at Gitmo.  The only captives there are GWorst Bush's prisoners.  Rendition ended with Obama's swearing in as president.

4. ~the continuation of "Bush Tax Cuts"
YUP!  What drives Democrats crazy about Obama is that he actually still believes in Bipartisanship... He believes in negotiations with the Republicans.  Obama wasted the first two years trying to find common ground with Republicans, instead of acting like a Republican and just pushing his bills through Congress when he had a chance.  Fairness with the GOP is an Obama weakness, not his strength.

5. ~ the cozy relationship with multi-national corporations like GE.
OMG!!!  Cicero is complaining that a Democrat is acting like a Republican!!!  Funny!

6. ~raking in HUGE donations from the "fat cats" on Wall St. and fat cat bankers.
This is one of Cicero's favorite ploys... he just says it.  No facts.  He wants it to be true so he says it as if it were true.  But of course, it's just more of Cicero's propaganda.
The truth?   From the NY Times, 2nd quarter campaign finance reports:
"49% of Obama's $46.3 million came in donations under $200, and 26% were maximum $2,500 donations.
Most of Obama's donations are from every day donors... working middle class people who can only afford a few dollars.  Only 26% were from maxed out donors (Cicero's fat cats)
By comparison:
6% of Romney's were under $200, while 70% were the maximum.(Fat cats galore, but average man... not so much)
http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/campaign-finance?hp&ref=politics

7. ~If Boehner and McConnell didn't have to deal with the Rand Paul's and Marco Rubio's this debt ceiling would have been raised and both parties would have taken a share of the money to bring back to the big money donor multi national corporations that fund the campaigns.
Just more Cicero blather.  IMO, most Republicans see Paul as a fringe candidate and ignore him.

8.~ (Finally)  Both parties have been failing for DECADES.  You don't rack up $14 TRILLION in debt and call it success.
The presidency of Bill Clinton was an economic success.  He even balanced the budget... something not done in decades.  Many Republicans wanted a NeoCon to win in 2000, but would have been quite happy with a continuation of the Clinton Economic successes.  Since Bush was such a total failure in almost every thing he attempted, the opposition seeking to disguise that total failure, lump both parties together as if it were the same problem.  Clinton (except for his Monica disaster) was very successful.  Bush was a total failure.  Cicero's take... they were the same.

*****
There ya go Better.  Cicero takes a shovel of Right Wing $hit and throws it at this board.  It's a lot of work to respond to all his BS, so I no longer bother, but because you asked, I did respond to your post.
I don't expect that you will agree with my views, but you asked so I've explained them.

We can argue with the rest of your statement as differences in ideology but your statement and I quote "1.  ~ What is Obama?
Barack Hussein Obama is the duly elected president of the United States.  But also the first Black US President... a fact that many here can't seem to live with" is pure unadulterated BS. The reason most of us are opposed to Obama is because we are conservatives and Obama if a very liberal ideologue who loves to redistribute the wealth of others. If GWB did this or any other President did this I would be equally opposed. You and Sheila Jackson Lee have a lot in common.

Never miss an opportunity to throw that race card.  The race card used to be an ace now it has the value of a deuce.  It is getting WAY overused.  But...Some old habits die hard.

If you make a statement like that you better put up some proof. If anyone could play the race card wouldn't it be those on the right considering 96% of blacks voted for Obama? I don't hear many complaining about that even though we do know race played a big part of those numbers. All the complaints I hear about Obama here tend to be about his policies, can you show me a example of where his race was brought up to attack him.

I do believe I read some racism here or at least an attack against Italians this morning on this board.

GB's post against Italians that I read here this morning.  I assume it was taken down by the board.  A good call.
