I'm happy to see there are so many new Ronald Reagan fans. Liberals hated him when he was alive, now love invoking his name when he's dead. It took 23 years, but it seems support for the Reagan legacy is growing - from all parts of the political spectrum.
Quoting history, as those who quote Hitler, Gandhi or US Presidents, doesn't require that you admire the person, just that you acknowledge that, for good or for bad, they changed history.
My favorite Ronny the Raygun quote and promise to the American people: "I will balance the US budget by 1984".
(That didn't happen until Bill Clinton Balanced the Budget in 1998.)

Thank God for Newt Gingrich and the Republcian Congress. Only if Reagan had a republican congress to work with. GWB and the Republican congress fu(ked up their chance. The result - Tea Party

Didn't the Newt shut down government... and it was a Republican disaster??? It seems that History is about to Repeat Itself!

It was shut down for 26 days I believe but everything was still paid like SS etc and the same will happen this time if shut down. The fear mongering that people won't get their SS checks is disgusting and the president should stop making such comments. We take in enough revenue to pay for the interest, anyone that tells you different is lying.

Paul ad cry: 'Owe,' the pain Last Updated: 9:25 AM, July 15, 2011 Posted: 2:23 AM, July 15, 2011
AUSTIN, Texas -- Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul is using his first campaign TV ad to promote his longtime opposition to raising the federal-debt limit.
In the ad, released yesterday, the Texas congressman criticizes both Republicans and Democrats for striking deals in the past and says Congress should not compromise this time.
"In the '80s, they did it to Reagan, a debt-ceiling compromise, Democrats promising spending cuts but delivering only tax hikes . . ." the ad says. "Will our party's leaders repeat the mistakes of the past?"
This was the first Ron Paul video posted here that I managed to watch all the way through. Very creative... it got his message across with out the usual Ron Paul Drama!
Watch most of the RP video's... they all seem to be made by the same crew, with the same voice over, the same drone... and put me to sleep if I make it through the first minute. Paul is Paul... a video from last night, last year or 10 years ago all seem the same.

I'm glad you liked it, Paul may sound like a broken record but I guess when you stand by the same message and don't flip flop on the issues that will tend to be the case. I'm going to post a shortened version of "For Liberty", it has been cut quite a bit from the original. If you do like it and want to see the whole thing I have a couple of the full length versions on DVD so let me know
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot."
Here is the shortened version with a new ending to fit into this new campaign.
"In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot."
I survived till minute 3, then gave up. (BTW, the opening segment with all political parties superimposed... for me Paul fits in to that mix. Just one more voice in a multitude of propaganda)
When I hear a singer that I like, I could listen to it all day. To listen to it again, I may even hear a specific note or word that I've not noticed before. It's beautiful.
I'm sure that if you are a Paul believer, his words are like me listening to some good music... but for me, Paul after a few minutes is painful. I read several sides of politics. I enjoy good arguments from the opposition. I enjoy debate. I enjoy opposing views. I've watched Obama, Bush, McCain, Romney, Uggg Palin (like scratching your nails on a blackboard), Edwards, several Kennedys etc etc etc. Paul is just one more voice. I see no distinction.
I once attended a Catholic church near my camp in the summer months. A nice church, with a long winded priest. He did have some good ideas and I learned some valuable lessons from his sermons, but I'm sure most was lost to me. ~His presentation overwhelmed his good lessons.~ I find the same thing with Ron Paul. In a 10 minute video, you can present your basic views, or you can present a very detailed view of one issue. If Ron Paul supporters think that the undecided public will sit through hours of Paul, especially when there is nothing new, they are wasting their time. If this is the SHORTENED version of Ron Paul, I'd hate to have to endure the LONG one.
I do admire Paul for keeping to his message and not selling out to get more votes... but also true... Once you've decided to reject Paul on his issues... with out anything new, why would you change your mind?

The video is more about the grassroots movement which sprung up in support of his message more than Paul himself, maybe watch 3 minutes a day if you can't deal with it in one full shot

Well me and many others have come around to his thinking so it can be done. I have always been to the right but after 9/11 I became pretty neo-conservative in my thinking, I used to watch FOX religiously, Bill OReilly, Hannity you name it. I was the person who argued we needed to invade Iraq and spread our forces throughout the world in order to be secure. Years later someone on another site started mentioning Paul and I dismissed him like most sheeple did as being a nutjob. After debating this person on many issues I realized he was right, so I started paying more attention to what Paul spoke about and sure enough I admitted I was a dumbass for not paying attention sooner.
What really sealed it for me is having supported Paul in the last election and watching those same people I used to watch on FOX just treat him like garbage. They would dismiss their own polls, they would constantly attack him, ignore him, and the worst one is they barred him from the debate even though he was polling higher than some. The last election was a real wake up call to me on how bad of shape this country is really in. I'm glad I woke up though and as you know I try to wake up others here and in other places. I get laughed at sometimes but it doesn't bother me as I know I was once that person who used to do the laughing.

Great Post!!!
I was in that same mindset. I was once polarized by the left/right debate that cable TV and Sunday morning shows market. They force you to pick a camp and to do the political party's bidding based on their talking points. The establishment doesn't allow room for a Ron Paul who I believe has truly transcended the stranglehold that the Democrats and Republicans have had on public debate. And the establishment and media hate him for that, and that is why he is silenced.
Box can’t get through 3 minutes of a Paul ad because Paul isn’t delivering the rhetorical red meat that he has been trained to attack. You can see how Box tries to label Paul as a racist because of his comments on the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Box NEEDS a clear divide in political philosophy and label a person “extreme”. The funny part is, both the Democrats AND Republican establishment are calling Paul extreme. How is that possible unless Democrats and Republicans are the same?
