And the refreshing part about paul is that he holds the 'system'...both democrats and republicans responsible for it.
Ummmm! Paul IS a Republican. I know Paul groupies hate to admit it but, Ron Paul is a long serving REPUBLICAN! SO HOLD HIM RESPONSIBLE!

A new Des Moines Register Poll shows that if the election were held today, Republican Ron Paul would be the strongest Republican to beat President Barack Obama in Iowa. Iowa caucus winner Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney would win Iowa as well according to the poll, but by smaller margins that Paul. The poll indicates that if the election were held today: Paul-49%, Obama-42% Santorum-48%, Obama-44% Romney-46%, Obama-42% Obama would decisively beat Newt Gingrich in Iowa according to the Des Moines Register poll. The feelings of Iowans nearly two months after the caucus are relevant because Iowa is considered to be one of a dozen 'battleground states' that will end up deciding the election. In front was active duty and retired veterans followed by a deuce and a half transporting some disabled vets, that was followed by some more vets and other supporters. Sadly the truck carrying the disabled vets was escorted away from the White house when it got close so I'm not sure if they were able to make it to the flag ceremony.
Once at the White house they held the flag folding ceremony which was followed by a moment of silence for those soldiers who committed suicide under Obama's watch, that was then followed by a moment of silence for those who died overseas on Obama's watch. Each moment of silence was 1 second for every soldier who died and let me say it took awhile to end

thanks bumble and henry for posting the videos. The amount of veterans , family and supporters was amazing, i think the organizers underestimated how many were there

A cheap shot in both cases. Those who died overseas, and those who committed suicide while Obama was President, CLEANING UP GEORGE WORST BUSH'S MESS!
~Why were the only troops honored in this way, those who died in the last 3 years fighting Bush's wars? ~Do these veterans only honor those troops killed under OBAMA??? ~Did they totally disregard those troops (The vast majority) who died before Obama?
Henry... Discussing military suicide is a valid issue. It's a problem that has been buried and forgotten since the wars began. BUT Making the suicide deaths of our troops a political issue is beneath you. I'm disappointed.
Are the Ron Paul groupies so desperate for some kind of victory that they'd celebrate on the bodies of American military suicides?
One more reason not to vote for Republican... REPUBLICAN JUST LIKE GEORGE WORST BUSH... Republican Ron Paul.

It becomes political when the politicians continue the same foreign policy that led to those suicides and deaths. You might have not been paying attention back then but Paul supporters were also making their voices heard under Bushes watch. Since Obama is our president the blood is on his hands, he doesn't get a pass just because he took over the wars from the previous administration. Obama could have pulled our troops back on day 1 but he didn't, instead he sent in 30,000 more for his surge.

When the suicides are caused by political policy, it MOST DEFINATELY is a political issue. How the hell else do you get politicians to change policy and keep our troops out of an undeclared war? YOU BRING IT TO THE ATTENTION TO THE PUBLIC AND PRESSURE THE POLITICIANS. Treating the high rate of suicide among soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan as unrelated to politics is a little callous.
That's like the old saying that people think they sound smart when they say it - all politics ends at water’s edge. Problem is, that's only true when policy ends at water’s edge.
