read between the lines, Paul even knows he has no chance. Watch the interview he gave CNN on SC primary night. The only reason he will stay in until the end is to collect enough delegates to have a voice at the RNC convention.... and forget a 3rd party run, he won't do it.

Why did you change the measurement to delegate count?  I though we were measuring polling numbers versus actual results?  Those are what are called rhetorical questions, I know the answer, you had to change statistics to fit your argument.  Good job.

And why did you go from actual poll numbers to average numbers?
Of course the polls are from either Republicans... Likely Republican voters or just from the general public.  Primary
voters are most often the more dedicated and more involved citizens, who often don't reflect the general public.

In the end, delegate count is the only count that matters for the nomination.
Polls often will show a trend.... the trend for Paul is to follow his other attempts for the Presidency... a footnote
in the election results.

Because there were 3 elections...It was the average number of votes received in proportion with votes cast.  It's the same concept telephone polls use...When you compare the telephone poll result against the actual voting, the "likely voter" isn't translating into actual votes.  Ron Paul is out performing the "likely voter".

I guess my point is, the polling data you are using to argue that Paul isn't going up in the polls and gaining momentum in VERY inaccurate.

In your post #1644, you linked to poll numbers from Gallup.
In my post #1645 I USED YOUR LINK... YOUR NUMBERS!

In your post #1649 you linked to the NY Times for your poll numbers.
In my post #1650 I AGAIN USED YOUR LINK... YOUR NUMBERS!

Then in Your Post #1655... After I've used your links and your numbers to prove my point...
You Post This:

Box, you did it again...You left out YOUR post at #1643 quoting the Rassumussen poll showing him "plummeting" in the polls.  You even used BOLD to highlight Ron Paul.

Again...This is post #1643
Quoted from Box A Rox

Ron Paul support... um, "incline".

Latest poll shows support for Ron Paul plummeting

but the latest Rassmussen poll shows support for his campaign plummeting at the national level.

Nationally:
~ Gingrich 35 percent
~ Romney 28 percent,
~ Rick Santorum 16 percent,
~ Paul with just 10 percent (Slightly down from where he started the race 9 months ago.
Not much of an [i]INCLINE

....Then I showed the current rolling 5 day average showing him climbing in the national polls by Gallup...THEN...I referenced the NYT and the average of his ACTUAL ELECTION RESULTS from the first 3 states in comparison to the other 3 candidates....THEN I compared the ACTUAL ELECTION RESULTS to the RCP national average of telephone polling for each candidate.

So in conclusion...My progression of references was to show how terribly wrong your initial "plummeting" comment was to not only other telephone polling(Gallup), but how far off the telephone polling of "likely voters" are way off from the ACTUAL ELECTION RESULTS(Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina) for Ron Paul.

P.S.
CNN has Ron Paul with 10 delegates.  So you were wrong there too.

If Ron Paul "NAILED THE DEBATE" then we should see a dramatic upswing in his poll numbers... Nailed it??? Should bring a
noticable 30 or 40 % rise in his polls as the others drop into oblivion.

Paul didn't 'nail the debate' because most Americans run from a sharp pointed object, truth......He's no god, but if folks would stop listening to the catch phrases of bumper stickers that
the status quo tout as truth we could move on.....

this is America...we are not going to fall apart....but we will 'entitlement' ourselves into a box that requires all the energy of the country just to keep the walls standing...and support it via a war
machine....we cant make enough 'war' at home to support ourselves...unless of course you count the 'fear tactic' wars of health/crime/education.....

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

Nope!  The sharp pointed object for many Americans is Paul's views.
Most Americans didn't watch the Republican debate... Most Americans who did watch the debate (I would assume) were
Republicans.  Most Americans have heard  Ron Paul's message and just reject it.
