Ron Paul on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid:

Paul frequently targets the nation's entitlement programs. He calls Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid unconstitutional.
In a 2008 debate, Paul said he would like to abolish Social Security, "but not overnight."
Paul voted against the 2003 law establishing prescription drug coverage under Medicare.
Opposed to government involvement in health care, Paul voted to create and then to expand medical savings accounts
for individuals and businesses. He recently introduced legislation to end the individual mandate to buy health insurance.

A vote for Paul would be a vote for America's future senior citizens.

Statement corrected.  You're welcome.

Ron Paul on Martin Luther King Jr, then and now:

"I was among the first to bring you news, about a year ago, that the Rev. Martin Luther King plagiarized his doctoral
dissertation. The January 1991 issue of Chronicles magazine tells the whole sordid story, but to scoop them, the Wall
Street Journal ran a 'sensitive' story. And now the New Republic reports that it, the WSJ, the Washington Post, and the
New York Times knew about the plagiarism long ago but chose to suppress it. So much for our free press.

"We know that King is a Marxist and a world-class adulterer. But there is yet another charge, and this appears in black
columnist Carl Rowan's new book Breaking Barriers (Boston: Little, Brown, 1991).

"While Rowan was head of the U.S. Information Agency under LBJ, he found out about the FBI bugging of King's
multifarious sexual activities. Documented on tape: a sexual relationship between King and his fellow Christian
minister, Ralph David Abernathy. See Rowan's book for the exact words, which I cannot bring myself to quote. Am
I glad I voted in Congress against an expensive federal holiday for this man."
—February 1991.

"He [King] was also a comsymp, if not an actual party member, and the man who replaced the evil of forced
segregation with the evil of forced integration.

"King, the FBI files show, was not only a world-class adulterer, he also seduced underage girls and boys. The
Rev. Ralph David Abernathy revealed before his death that King had made a pass at him years before.

"And we are supposed to honor this 'Christian minister' and lying socialist satyr with a holiday that puts him on
par with George Washington?

"Congratulations to Arizona! Who could doubt that the result would be exactly the same if the other 49 states
could also vote on a holiday for this affirmative-action saint?"
—December 1990.

"Boy, it sure burns me to have a national holiday for Martin Luther King. I voted against this outrage time and
time again as a Congressman. What an infamy that Ronald Reagan approved it! We can thank him for our annual
Hate Whitey Day."
—February 1990.

"One of my heroes is Martin Luther King."

TRIO OF FISCAL, SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES TO BACK PAUL AT S.C. STATE HOUSE EVENT ON TUESDAY

Three State Senators in the socially conservative South Carolina Upstate will endorse U.S. Rep. Ron Paul’s presidential bid on Tuesday, sources tell FITS – another sign of the Texas Congressman’s growing momentum as the Palmetto State’s pivotal “First in the South” presidential primary approaches.

FITS is in the process of confirming the names of the three Senators, but we’re told all three are “fiscal conservative rock stars” as well as die-hard social conservatives … (i.e. the sort of people who were recently urged to back Rick Santorum).

News of the endorsements comes one day after Paul’s campaign scored a major coup by landing the endorsement of Lowcountry S.C. Senator Tom Davis – arguably the most influential conservative lawmaker in state government.

The BOOMERS??? (1946 and 1964)  Really???  The BOOMERS built this busted system???

(Someone get Senders a history book.)

Although Social Security did not really arrive in America until 1935, there was one important precursor, that offered
something we could recognize as a social security program, to one special segment of the American population.
Following the Civil War, there were hundreds of thousands of widows and orphans, and hundreds of thousands
of disabled veterans. In fact, immediately following the Civil War a much higher proportion of the population was
disabled or survivors of deceased breadwinners than at any time in America's history. This led to the development
of a generous pension program, with interesting similarities to later developments in Social Security.

The Social Security Act was signed into law by President Roosevelt on August 14, 1935. In addition to several
provisions for general welfare, the new Act created a social insurance program designed to pay retired workers
age 65 or older a continuing income after retirement.

Ron Paul on his Chances...

LAKE JACKSON, Texas,January 17, 2012

Ron Paul says he has by no means given up on winning the Republican presidential nomination, but he acknowledges that
he might not make it.

"The odds are right now that [Mitt] Romney, he pulls it off,"said Mr Paul, a Texas congressman. "But he doesn't
even have a guarantee in a week."

I wonder why you single out a generation that had little to do with SS until recent years...
an example:
Tricky Dicky Nixon... Statement on Signing the Social Security Amendments of 1972--October 30, 1972:

IT GIVES me very great pleasure to sign H.R. 1, landmark legislation that will end many old inequities and will
provide a new uniform system of well-earned benefits for older Americans, the blind, and the disabled. This
bill contains many improvements and expansions of the social security, Medicare, and Medicaid programs
which this Administration recommended and is proud to bring into reality today.

Nixon was president of the USA when Boomers were still  being born.  Hardly a BOOMER PROBLEM.
