I think many Republican voters stayed home in 2008.

I've been a democrat my whole life and just filled out my voter registration today to switch to Republican.

Like I said before don't vote for party line but the person. So if Ron Paul does get the endorsement (which he should)  I can vote in the primary for him.

I watched Donald Trumps interview on CSPAN, he was getting upset as reporters were bringing up the birth certificate issue. Oh well he's the one who said he had investigators in Hawaii. Now he wants Obamas college records made public. I hope the Tea Party stays far away from him.

I'm a registered blank, but someone 'smarter than me', (if you can believe it  ), suggested I change to republican so I can vote in the republican presidential primary.........for Ron Paul.

If you do it now, you should be able to.  If you wait too long (like after this November's elections), you may not be able to.  Not sure of the actual date, but I think you still have time.  Check with the board of elections.

As far as picking a party, go with the one that should be standing for the same values as yourself, then vote to make sure they stick to those values.

You are correct..........as long as it's done before the next election in Nov.

I'm not changing from blank to rep because of the party. The two party system has left us no other choices. You can bet that I'll be a registered blank after the 2012 election.

This is nys's law. I hear that in other states, ANYONE can vote in a presidential primary. So we have to work within the system we are dealt.

I watched the Stossel show last night and it was great. Even Ron Paul had to keep a straight face during the Obama debate : )

thanks for the information!!
My new registration form is on it's way!
Thanks again!

I will be supporting and voting for ron paul. Will it split the vote? Possibly. But the two party system has proven to be a failure. And neither party, with the help of the media, wants to give up the gravy train they have become accustomed to.

I have always been a registered blank. This will be the first time I register with a major party. ONLY so I can vote in the republican presidential primary. (ya gotta work within the system) I believe and agree with ron paul's platform unlike what is available today. And if the tea partiers are as serious as they say about taking our country back.....then we should see them rallying for Paul. The ones who don't are NOT real tea partiers......just bought and sold by the reps.

Foreign aid is the taking of money from the poor people of rich countries and giving it to the rich people of poor countries- Ron Paul

Henry,
Most US Foreign aid is given in 'credits'.  Those credits are used to buy from American companies.  Paul had it wrong.

"Foreign aid is the taking of money from middle class American Taxpayers, and giving it to American Businesses."

In some cases yes, example military weaponry but that is not always the case. Look at Mubarak who received billions in aid only to leave with billions in his accounts. Foreign aid comes in all packages and it is not always in our best interest even though it is our interest which they use to justify it.

US foreign aid summary

Quoted Text

The Complaints About Foreign Aid
Foreign Aid Purpose:
To create foreign markets for US products, esp. arms sales.
1. Foreign aid aids the giver, not the recipient.
2. Corruption is a major problem - many funds go to private bank accounts.
- - - The leaders get the money, the people get nothing.
3. Richer nations receive the most aid.

Foreign Aid Determinants:
1. Strategic considerations (Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Afghanistan)
2. Former colonial status (Africa)
3. Political alignment (Middle East)
4. Drug policy (South America)

Foreign Aid NON-determinants:
Need - The poorest nations receive the least aid.
U.N. Voting Record - Doesn't count, if you can't do anything for the US.
