If someone is convicted of a crime but doesn't go to prison and is just left on parole........are they allowed to collect schenectady's lucrative welfare program? just askin'
When the INSANE are running the ASYLUM In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule. -- Friedrich Nietzsche

My cousin was or is on probation and he collects welfare, don't know about parole though.
As for the stabbing/shooting , yup it's going to be some summer : (
Too bad the cops walking the beat, I mean the ones who are said to be didn't see anything.
Also there is a camera in that vicinity, don't know if they even had the dam thing on.
Our car broken into again the other night, you would think if its the same perp they would realize there is nothing of value in it. Didn't bother calling the police as nothing was done when they could've gotten prints and as for the camera on my corner never heard back from the PD, not suprised.
Maybe thats why the cameras are not a deterant. I don't know if they are shut off, no one is manning them, they are erased each day, or no one really gives a crap.

Yes, yes they are, just like any other 6th generation of living off the system scumbag does.
It still costs less than keeping them in prison though, unless of course, they have cancer, AIDS, or some other very expensive disease, in which case, they are promptly booted out of jail (unless they're serial killers) and us local taxpayers get to pay for their care.
Otherwise, it would financially interfere with the status quo of the current prison-industrial complex.
Forgot to add speaking of cops on the beat, I had an appt. near city hall and there WAS a cop walking the beat on Jay St. and also the bike cop. And the ticket guy checking the meters. So everything is fine and dandy downtown, money, police protection ................
Now God forbid there is another murder in Hamilton Hill/Mt. Pleasant we will hear about added police presence, but thats for a day or two and then its back to usual.
All the money funneled into downtown and soon Erie blvd could be much better spent. Lets see paving roads in the neighborhoods, and how about any kid under 16 who is hanging out after say 11 at night, have some money where they can haul they kid over to the albany st. traffic station, get ahold of the parent/parents/guardian and bill the parent for the cost of the cops time and use of the albany st. station.
In the summer there are kids very young hanging out all hours of the night.
The millions spent downtown could demolish every vacant house in the city that is beyond repair. Then go after the homeowner if possible.
